A Day in the Life of Someone Else

“…I don’t even own a brush!” Grace Hart, a dedicated FBI agent, played by Sandra Bullock in the movie “Miss Congeniality”, lives an interesting life in which I would love to live a day in. Grace has a very carefree, sarcastic personality, and when she has a makeover, becomes a gorgeous person. These are only some of the reasons why I would want to be Grace Hart for a day. Let’s find out the other ones.

Grace goes through a drastic physical change during the movie. In the beginning of the movie, her hair is very messed up; reason being that she doesn’t own a brush. When she’s not wearing a suit at work, she’s wearing comfortable clothes at home, eating TV dinners and practicing her boxing skills with a punching bag. Her appearance changes when she has to go undercover as a contestant in a beauty pageant. After hours of work by a team of nearly 100 people, Grace is made into a gorgeous woman with perfect hair, teeth, and even eyebrows. Even though her clothing is now a little bit nicer, she still has the comfortable style that she did in the beginning of the movie and the same attitude towards life.

Grace has many admirable character traits. She is a very intelligent person. She is a member of the FBI, and a dedicated one at that. She is very serious about her work, and performs her duties as an agent fearlessly. Although becoming an undercover beauty pageant contestant goes against many of her morals, she is willing to do it anyway. This shows her dedication towards her job and her willingness to help others who are in danger. (The other contestants were in fact in danger because there was a cereal killer plotting to kill someone at the pageant.) Grace is a very funny character and has a very sarcastic personality. However, her sarcasm is not degrading towards others. It is merely funny. Grace’s best character trait would be the fact that she doesn’t care what others think about her. She’s comfortable being the person that she is, and if people joke about her, she’ll either joke back or just let it roll off her back. This is definitely a good quality to have.

There are many reasons why I would want to be Grace Hart for a day. In my opinion, she has an amazing personality. She is able to joke around and be serious about her work at the same time. I love how she doesn’t care at all what people think about her and it doesn’t bother her what-so-ever when her colleagues make fun of her about things like not going on dates often enough, the way she doesn’t dress like a typical woman, or eat like a typical woman. Also, when she meets with the person that’s going to give her a makeover and teach her how to be more “woman-like” for the pageant, she doesn’t care that he makes comments such as, her table manners being hideous, or that she walks like a dinosaur. I also really like her fashion style at the end of the movie. She can wear very comfortable clothes and still look amazing in them! I also think she is gorgeous after her makeover and I would love to look like she did, at least for a day. Lastly, I think it would be very interesting to be an FBI agent and I’d really like to see what it would be like be in that line of work.

In my personal opinion, living a day in the life of Grace Hart would be a ton of fun. To live a carefree, fearless life, with a nice wardrobe, and be as beautiful as she was would be an amazing experience. It would also be pretty funny to be able to come up with all of the sarcastic comments that she says. There are millions of people in the world that a person may choose to live a day in the life of. Who would you choose?
