The aim of the club is to encourage athletes to further develop their skills, promote good sportsmanship, and provide new experiences through training workshops, Regional, National and International competitions. In this respect we request that notification of any such competitions, be it through Association membership or Open Competition, be advised to a Committee Member as soon as possible in order that the necessary enquires can be pursued. Due to the geographical range of the membership only allowing limited training sessions, an athlete should always be totally committed whilst at the sessions and will be expected to practise outside of training sessions at the athlete's discretion, i.e., to achieve certain goals, etc. We believe that a true athlete is not necessarily the best twirler but an athlete who shows enthusiasm and commitment to the project in hand. Membership numbers are not restricted as the aim is to encourage any athlete with an interest to come along and take part as much as possible. There is no age restriction. The SWTT operates an open door policy to any athlete from any Team or Association. We endeavour to further develop athletes of all abilities. Projects will be reviewed and considered throughout and athletes must respect the Trainer's decision in routines and team structures, as final. At times, it may be necessary for a selection process but we hope that all athletes will understand any decisions made and will only want what's best for the SWT Team and the project in hand. Financial records are kept by the Treasurer. These may be viewed at any time.
We believe that the Team Building aspects of the South West Twirling Team, promoting comradeship and sportsmanship amongst athletes throughout the South West can only benefit the young people involved
