Lesson 203

In this lesson you will learn to work with verbs that change such as convencer, esparcir and ejercer.

ejercer cer

The verbs ending in cer or cir preceded by a consonant, change c to z in the first person singular.

Ejerciendo una carrera profesional
 

Yo ejerzo como programador en Entel. 
 

Para obtener 
una carrera yo convenzo a mis empleadores de que seré capaz 
de ejercerla. 
Ellos convencen al público cuando actúan.
Yo ejerzo el puesto de Presidente de Panamá.

Yo convenzo al público
con mis canciones.
Yo esparzo mis ideas 
a través del Internet.

Ejemplos:
 

Yo ejerzo mi trabajo responsablemente. El ejerce la profesión de contador.
Yo convenzo a mis hermanos.  El convence a sus clientes fácilmente.
Yo esparzo las noticias entre los amigos. Ella esparce sus ropa por todas partes.
Yo ejerzo como gerente de ventas. El ejerce un cargo de seguridad.

b)   Prepare yourself for a student discussion at the end of the Lab session.

c)   Write one page about Elementos que influyen en la Elección de tus Estudios o
       Profesión to be presented in the classroom for evaluation. Make use of the verbs
      studied in this lesson.

Email to your e-pal

At the end of the Lab session write an e-mail to your e-pals in Chile. Use the verbs convencer, esparcir and ejercer and discuss with them the opportunities to study a career. Also you can ask them about the kind of career orientation they have in their country. 

Keep this e-mail in your Cyber Spanish folder, because at the end of the term you together with  your class partner will present a summary of the information collected from your e-mails.

 

The e-mail must be sent to the classroom teacher for assessment.
