"If we want to have peace in the world, we have to start with the children." --Gandhi
Note from the founder: Bullying can begin at a very young age with something as "minor" as name-calling. It can then lead to school violence and often, to adult violence. If we teach our children at home, and if our teachings are reinforced at school, even as young as 3 & 4 year old Pre-K , perhaps we will put a dent in this particular cycle of violence. Teach your children very early on that hitting and kicking people and animals are not acceptable behaviors. Pay attention to the television and movies your child watches; yes, even at a very early age. You may think "those cartoons are harmless" but take heed, even some of the most innocent cartoons show some form of violence at varying degrees. A main ingredient for anti-bullying is teaching your child compassion from birth. Whether your child is being bullied or your child IS the bully, there is help available. Perhaps we should remember we teach best by example.
