Mountain Troop
Mountain troop covers all mountain and winter operations. These guys have to go through a lot of cold climates. New members have to learn rock climbing, and arctic warfare. SAS troopers attend courses in the mountains of Germany.  Honestly, I wouldn't necessarily want to join mountain troop, I might be Canadian and used to the cold winter, but that doesn't mean I like it eh?  These guys have to trudge everywhere in their big boots, and their big parkas, carrying skis and snow shoes. They're real hardcore, they don't whine, and they don't complain about the cold. Mountain troop does all the rock climbing, and the rapelling, so it's not all bad. Honestly, I don't know much about the mountain troop, so if I'm wrong anywhere here, please let me know.
Andy Baxter
On the left is a picture of Andy Baxter rock climbing in Germany. Andy Baxter went on an attemp to climb mount Everest. Unfortunately he was injured on the way to the top by a sudden avalanche. A few months later, he died. He had great skill in the field of mountaineering, rock climbing, and arctic warfare.
The SAS will never forget him.
