Jungle Course
The survivors of the Combat and Survival Course are then moved to a very different environment for a period of intensive training in jungle warfare  and jungle survival. Jungle training lasts between four and six weeks and is based in the Far East, usually Brunei. The object of the course is to teach the trooper basic jungle survival techniques - navigation in the dark, dense jungle fighting, identifying edible plants, and building concealed hides. This course also ends with an exercise: a four-man patrol is given a specific task that is designed to test  all the skills the candidates have been taught in the previous weeks. Once again, the course must be sucessfully completed if the trooper is to avoid being RTU'd and go forward the static-line parachute training at No. 1 Parachute Training School, based at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
