New batch of alumni

OATH TAKING OF NEW ALUMNI.   The Officers & Directors of Lanao Chung Hua School Alumni Association tendered a Fellowship Dinner in honor of the graduating class of Batch 2006 on March 28, 2006 at 2nd Floor Patio Alejandra Restaurant, San Miguel St., Iligan City at 6:30 p.m.  One of the highlights of the affair was the oath taking ceremony of the new graduates as new alumni.  The ceremony was followed by a  free flowing exchange of ideas of the problems of the students inside the school.  This year’s batch is the highest number of graduating students, comprising of 18 boys & 13 girls.  And out of 31 students 10 are of non-Chinese lineages. We could see really that they can succeed. A short program was presented and the School Principal William K. Payonan,  School Director Henry T. Siao, and Assistant School principal Christine Veronica Uy were on hand to grace the affair.

HOMECOMING.  Alfred "Al-Al" Lai II (Batch '89) came home for a brief vacation in Iligan recently.  A bienvenida party was held in their family residence in Pala-o with relatives and friends in attendance. Al-Al, a former staff member of the Spectrum, is now a resident of Illinois, U.S.A., where is he a registered nurse.  He is the son of Alfredo Lai (Batch '59) and Elita "Po Hua" Lai (Batch '62).  Welcome home, Al-Al!

ANCOM IN CEBU.   Many alumni members of the Freemasons are expected to sail to Cebu on April 27 to attend the Annual Communication (Ancom) of the Philippine Freemasonry.  LCHS alumni, who are now key players in the local business community, comprise a great number of the Freemasons membership in Iligan.

OFF TO CHINA.  Roderick Ngo (Batch '70) jetted off to China together with his wife Marivic and their three kids for their summer vacation. Rod & family will tour some major cities in China for 10 days and are expected back in Cebu on May 1.
