A successful conquest of Pakistan secured their popularity and support, but left them bloodied by the Pyrrhic victory. Further conquests of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Burma kept them in power, but with an economy crumbling under the ravages of war and an international embargo due to use of nuclear weapons, they need further conquests to prevent an electoral defeat. Increasing population pressure is also driving the need to conquer some sort of empty land...the only one at hand is Australia. Nervous about an expanding China and Japan.
