Oz Fic: Scents
Scents

The motel room was filled with a loud silence. The kind of silence that you wouldn't notice, but for the tiny gasps, and the wet slap of copulating flesh. The kind of silence that just won't shut up, with sound from the highway drifting in through the open window on a sweltering summer night. No crickets, no cliched country night sounds, just the moonlight, and the breathing, and the semi-trucks speeding on their way to God knows where.

Oz closed his eyes as he thrust his hips forward, pushing deeper into the warm, velvet opening of his partner. Soft white skin under his hands, the gentle curve of the spine. All familiar, yet strange. If he didn't look, he could imagine that hair brushing the pillow was dark, rich red. If he didn't see, he could pretend that the tightness around him was Hers. Eyes were meant to be deceived.

The werewolf quickened his pace, gripping the hips in front of him with increased pressure. Faster, he thrust into that warmth. Farther, his mind drifted - into memory, into regret. A salty drop of moisture landed on the back arched beneath him. Whether it was sweat, or a tear, he couldn't say. If he had been capable of words. No. Oz was growling, deep in his chest. He thrust once, twice, and climaxed with a shudder, feeling his seed fill the channel and spill down spread thighs.

Still shivering, he reached over to the bedside drawer. With cold eyes, he threw a handful of wadded bills at the whore. Oz barely bothered to watch as the street boy grabbed his clothing and the money, scuttling out the door. The slam woke the werewolf out of his stupor.

He looked at the rumpled bed in distaste, his nostrils flaring. His hands twitched and flexed. He could fool his eyes, just by closing them. His hands, with soft, young skin. His dick hardly knew the difference. But the scent... No matter how he tried, there was no strawberry shampoo. No coconut lip balm. The scent that he craved, of her warm skin, of her sweat, of her lust, of her love... gone.

There was no Willow.

Like so many nights before, Oz curled up in the corner of the room. And cried.
