Spike & Harmony
Ok, so I want you to know right now that I *really* hate Harmony. I hated her as a human and I hate her as a vampire. But that is besides the point. She is so pathetic, it's funny. Spike and Harmony are the perfect comic duo. This is a major case of unrequited love. Harmony, who will always be the eternal teenager loves Spike. I mean she's pretty, and blonde and sexy (I don't agree, but this isn't about me). To Spike, Harmony is his way of getting revenge on women. He treats her badly because he's lashing out. He has major issues with women, I blame Cecily.
Harmony is naive. She thinks that Spike wants her, but he doesn't. He uses her for sex, mostly. She offers no real challenge to him the way Drusilla did. He doesn't let his emotions get involved with Harmony. He knows that she'll always come back to him. Eventually.
She would do pretty much anything for him, which is sweet. But I don't feel sorry for her. I mean, she is a bitch. (A very stupid one.)
For once Spike is the eldest in the relationship, he has the power. He likes that. I think that is one of the main reasons he keeps her around. He wants to be in control. Plus, Harmony is a little scared of Spike, Drusilla never was. He likes that, again the control issue. Drusilla understood Spike, I don't think he'll ever have that with anyone else. Spike's violent nature is a bit of a turn on for Harmony, which I found quite interesting. So there is some substance under that blonde hair?!  She likes a bit of pain....does that come with the vampire part? All of our vamp girls seem to like a bit of pain. Even Harmony.
Through Spike's treatment of her, Harmony got independent. (Well she tried.) She dumped him eventually, but if I know our Spike he could have her back if he wanted to.
These two together was highly amusing, there was no real substance. I loved the fact that you could see that Harmony annoyed the hell out of Spike. He had no patience with her what so ever. She *was* an annoying human, with no real brain cells to speak of!
It should be interesting to see if they ever get back together. Though I sincerely hope not.
