Marry Kaede?!

This is something a Rukawa girl should definitely know...well before you girls (or whatever gender) send out your bio-datas, you will have to consider the following things our dear Rukawa Kaede is capable of. As someone you wish to marry, it's a must to know some backgrounds and facts about this attractive lad...so ready to roll?!

This is specially dedicated to two very Kaede-ic people - Chache-chan of AKML and very dear Fall Yuy of GW and 3x8/8x3 Saiyuki.

On to Kaede as your marriage prospect...I really think I'm gonna be flamed for this!

Who Rukawa Kaede, of course! Otherwise known as Super Rookie (first called by Sendoh Akira!!!) and Kitsune.

Features Doing it in a head to toe basis, it goes something like this:

Head Shiny black hair that slightly conceal his blue eyes which can convey a lot of meaning behind each and every stare. With a perfect nose to match those eyes and pale, thin lips.

Neck A very slender neck (which also reflects the sexy waistline, come on, 2x neck circumference is the waistline!!!).

Shoulders Broad, strong shoulders which we, Rukawa fanatics can hold on to especially in those very intense moments (looks at a blushing Chache-chan and a hentai-faced Fall-chan).

Chest Very muscular torso (as seen on TV) with those abs you'll definitely drool on.

The YUMMY part Uhm...what's next below the torso is going to be his and your secret once he chose you (Chache-chan faints because of imagination; Fall-chan laughs maniacally).

Extremities Legs...hmmm. Sexy and NOT skinny, I stress that point!!! As seen on TV, he's absolutely...no questions, no doubts, no more, no less...flawless!!! He can undeniably wear those short shorts without any trace of shame!!! Arms...adequately muscular. Meaning it's just right. Of course it's safe to say he had strong arms because he's a sportsman - and the hands...*Archangel thinking of hentai thoughts - just where can it all go?*. As can be seen on TV (since I haven't seen the manga), he seems to own a set of candle-like fingers (you can observe it when he dribbles the ball, see the Ryonan-Shohoku final game in the start of the second half where he was about to do the 'changing pace' - quoted from Sendoh Akira...reminiscing SenRu moments!!!). Feet, I ASSUME it's big! And men with big feet have big...shoes, as I remember from the Notting Hill movie. But you guys know what I mean. Something to note as well, he wears that arm support on his left arm (do I remember it right?) which makes him more delicious!

Overall Not to mention his milk-white complexion that mirror his white jersey and intensify his red one, this guy is all in all hot! He can make you stare drooling in 5 whole minutes then make you wear those white and pink RU-KA-WA outfit and just go loco cheering on him on the next! If not, he'll make you almost fall out the gutter of the stadium you're watching in because of his sheer beauty...and talent!

Intelligence According to the Multiple Intelligences Theory of Howard Gardner, he can be considered as a man of exceptional Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, aka body-smart, literally good with their body and all of it's parts (looks at the Fall-chan's rapist mode). Of course we know even in our sleep that Rukawa Kaede's not just an ordinary player. In addition to that, is it safe to say he's music smart? I'm not sure, since the only way to know if you're music smart is that you can easily get tunes and sing good, play musical instruments and the likes. As for Rukawa, he likes music but does not really point out he's musically inclined...but I ASSUME he can get tunes easily since he's very much interested in the field. Academically...no one's stupid!!! So, yes, to those who say Rukawa's just sleeping so he can't be smart, well...EXCUSE ME!!! That actually...exactly proves you guys wrong - why??? Because he managed to reach high school while sleeping in class! Said enough?

Personality As seen on TV, he's a very quiet person and may seem a little cold but if you look closely on the entire series you may want to agree with me on the following things:

Goal-oriented When he says one thing, he'll do it. He always create goals and makes sure he'll accomplish them. And because of this, he's very straightforward when approaching certain things, we can see that very well in the SD series. Aside from that, his high devotion to attain his goals is what makes him talk to his teammates to wake up in times of basketball disasters. We can see then that he's a very determined individual and we can assess some leadership skills...he's not Tomigaoka's captain for nothing! But his scolding isn't for himself alone, it's for the whole team. His lines are very powerful that the team realizes the correctness of his words. So dropping punch lines to Sakuragi is not a means of flirting or getting Sakuragi's love attention (Please spare me from that crap...) but to awaken him because the team needs him, if they do not play as a team, they'll lose and every game is crucial...so not only is he goal directed, straightforward, determined and powerful, he's also very smart and open-minded.

Respectful Just see the respect he gives to his sempais and his coach? Compared to Sakuragi, he addresses his seniors as his '-sempais' and his coach as '-sensei'. And remember the time when Rukawa asked Coach Anzai to train him? He was so courteous...kawaii!!! And when he asked Mitsui for a 1-on-1...just look at how much he paid respect to him, he's very civil. Plus the fact that he knows who he should respect as a player...like Sendoh Akira!!! Yes, he does, because he wouldn't be itching to beat him if he does not really digest the fact that Sendoh is a good player!

Caring Despite being silent and cold, as they all say, I see Rukawa Kaede as a very caring individual. Actually, my argument is already done in the goal-oriented part - he cares so much for his team that's why he wakes them up at important periods of the game. And as was said, it's not for personal profit, it's for the entire team, so we can't say he's selfish. What's funny is, he shows his care not in the normal way - as in telling people charismatically that you care. He irritates you first and if you're mature enough like he is, you'll see that he's right. Underlying those harsh lines is the care he holds for the team.

Mature You can't get what Rukawa Kaede means if you're level of thinking is that of a grade 1 kid. He has a different perspective on things (you have to watch SD OVA 4 to understand what I mean). I like the way he makes people realize their importance to the team or make his memory alive to people. It's not childish, really. Especially on SD OVA 4 where he really challenged Ichiro to play...insulted him first and even requested to change teams but in the end, all he wanted was to bring the best out of the poor guy as in 'play hard till you have nothing to regret' since it was his last game...gosh, his level of thinking is so mature that Sakuragi and the rest of the people there did not know what he meant until the entire issue was brought out in the open! This also tells us of how mysterious this guy can be.

Finances I really am not sure about this, but I think...I THINK he's not poor. How much does an Air Jordan cost anyway? And on a certain episode on SD where he was lying on his bedroom, I can judge that at least he's on the average. But I really don't have much proof on that...let's just base it on the shoes, shall we?

Combat Skills Ok, this one I want to dedicate to Chache-chan, here goes - Rukawa Kaede is not a weakling...he is definitely dangerous! He can knockdown several guys at a time (just watch SD episode 2 and you'll find out). He can be knocked-down with the mop but hell, who wouldn't anyway? Let's just be realistic here, shall we? And even though he was KO with the mop, he's still alive, ne? And combat skills just doesn't involve action, it also involves survival...and how many times did Kaede bump into the wall, the car, people and everything and managed to stay alive? I guess that is a major combat skill he mastered and no one can dare surpass that! But kidding aside, he can be a killer if he wish to, he can really kick ass!

Special Abilities This is very obvious. I'd have to say 4 major things he can do which is very special: 1) His cat-like lives. His unique way of survival is for me, a very special ability. 2) Very evident, the basketball skills. On of the top, they say and in fact, he's on the national level. That's way too much for a high school guy but he's Rukawa Kaede so no doubt about that. 3) The ability to do things quietly and perfectly. Rukawa is actually the type of guy with hidden intentions. He never tell his plans to anyone but accomplish it in the best way possible. Example, in the Ryonan-Shohoku match, nobody knew he sacrificed the first half until the start of the next half of the game, and he did so perfectly. Aside from that, if you'll remember SD OVA 4, he had his hidden agenda at the end and the result was superb! I can say he's one who has enough brains and heart to be able to do just what he did, and that's special. 4) This one's very obvious, his extraordinary ability to look good at all times. Whether inside court or in school, sleeping on his desk with the drool and riding his bike, this guy can stay gorgeous every time. I think that's something special! Don't you think?

Competition I do not consider non-yaoi pairings here, if there's anyone Rukawa should be with...it's us girls, ne? On the yaoi side of life...Sendoh Akira. Well, what can I say? This is a SenRu/RuSen site so...yeah, as expected...I, webmistress Archangel will give a thorough discussion on this matter. Please refer to Why SenRuSen?! to get my (and all of the AK fans) point.

Family/Relatives Not seen in the series. We cannot make any assumptions.

Sex Life This guy can definitely go anywhere. Those eyes could stare you down and he can hypnotize you with just one look. I believe he's not 'emotionless' at all (as assumed by many because of his cold exterior) especially when it comes to this - but well, he's a man (not that I say they are sexually oriented) but guys always know something like this, just as girls do...and hell, it's human nature! So my analysis is, he can go slow - he can tease. He can go wild and bring you to the edge. S&M? Hmmm...I don't know about that but to me he's not animalistic. He's actually a gentleman. So I think he can just stick to the traditional but can go to different heights as the situation calls. But one thing's for sure, you'll definitely enjoy (Right, Fall-chan?).

Family Life He's going to be a good father, I think. Well, we don't see him bad in the series, right? And I think Rukawa is a one woman man, or one man man for this matter...which happened to be Sendoh Akira!!! So I think family life would be great with Rukawa Kaede. And addicted to basketball as he is, you may see him play basketball with your son or daughter or see them watching basketball games while eating popcorn or something like that.

The Challenge His mind is really into basketball. For the girls, you have to be an eye catcher basketball gal or else he won't notice you. Hahaha! But kidding aside, I think he's the type to look for a girl with a nice reputation. I don't think he like the girls who are as wild as Hanamichi or as sex freak as Fall-chan *kidding, my friend*, but that's the thought. I think he would actually go for a girl who does not follow him while walking along the corridors or send him love letters. That's what I think, you see. How about Haruko? Yeah he speaks to her but about what? Just one 'yes' and in the SD OVA 4 which was completely business...no special relations...so no way, man! But just to be safe, one thing is positive here, it's not an easy way. You have to get his attention away from basketball for the time being in order to do that, and you must like basketball or else you won't be or you may have some difficulty relating to him. You still up for the challenge? Well, if it's Rukawa Kaede, should you doubt?
