Train
Livingston North Station: There is a half-hourly train service from Edinburgh to Livingston North Station. The station is on the branch line to Bathgate. From the station you can take a Taxi from the Taxi rank (or call 01506 444444) Or for the more adventurous you can attempt the twenty minute walk down Alderstone Road following signs for Town Centre and St John's Hospital.
The Monday-Saturday afternoon service is half hourly leaving Waverley at 18 and 48 minutes past the hour. The journey takes about 23 minutes.
A cheap day return from Edinburgh, available on Saturdays is a very reasonable £3.50
Livingston South Station: Livi South station at Murieston is on the Glasgow to Edinburgh route via Shotts. It's more or less the same story as the North station but with a far more hazardous walk, via flyovers and roundabouts and stuff. Best getting a cab.
Trains leave from Glasgow Central hourly on Monday-Saturday at 15 minutes past the hour and the journey time is one hour.
