| MedicaLogic/Medscape, Inc. has no operations except that of managing its
properties as debtors in possession pursuant to the Bankruptcy Code.
During the year ended December 31, 2001, the Company engaged in, and
derived substantially all of its revenues from, its three operating
segments: Digital Health Record (DHR) applications, Internet Portals and
Transcription Services. The Company's DHR applications replaced or
augmented the paper medical record, provided decision support and
facilitated the flow of clinical information necessary for patient care.
MedicaLogic's Internet portals included Medscape.com and
CBSHealthwatch.com, and the transcription services segment was a Web-based
medical transcription service. On January 24, 2002, the Company filed a
voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Code.
The Debtors are operating their businesses and managing their properties
as debtors in possession. |
