ANDY'S TURBO CIVIC BUILD

 

This project is finished.  The motor is assembled with Crower rods and SRP 8.5:1 forged pistons and rings.  The block utilizes Darton sleeves with a Race Engineering block guard.  The top end has a JG head with Crower cams and adjustable cam gears.  A set of ARP head studs keeps a tight squeeze on the Cometic head gasket.  On the cool side, a Mitsubishi 18G turbo pushes the intake charge thru a massive front mount chiller and thin walled aluminum piping to the bored out throttle body and into the JG first gen intake plenum.  A Greddy Type S blow off valve keeps the pressurized air from backpedaling thru the turbo between shifts.  At the hot side, a custom fabricated  Stainless Steel turbo manifold feeds the turbine which expels the hot exhaust gases thru a 3" down pipe.  A Turbonetics Racegate keeps the boost in check. On the fuel side, a Holly in-tank fuel pumps feeds the AEM fuel line through -6 stainless steel braided lines.  The RC Engineering 440cc injectors provide the fuel for fire works in the combustion chamber, while the AEM fuel pressure regulator manages the fuel squishing duties before dumping the excess fuel through -6 lines and back into the tank. An MSD SCI ignition box and Blaster 2 coil provide the hot spark required.  A HonData stage 2 EPROM controls all the crashing and banging.  The resulting power is transmitted through the Clutchmasters lightweight flywheel to the ACT four puc ceramic fiction disc and heavy duty pressure plate.  KVR drilled rotors provide the additional stopping force that is needed.
