ADAM'S HYPERMOTIVE GARAGE
Finally, a new car for me to play with. I picked up this 1995 240SX from a friend for $3,600 bucks. It was a really good deal. It's got an automatic transmission and 150K miles, but I lucked out in the rear end department. It came factory with ABS brakes, so that means its got a viscous LSD, yay for me. It doesn't have a sun roof, but at least it has power windows and such. It's going to be a fun car to upgrade.
First up will be nitrous oxide injection. The only 'mod' on the car currently is a high flow intake cone filter. It gives it a small growl, but I don't want it to be too loud, I want the sleeper aspect to be in full effect for the meantime. I have a 4 port fogger system just begging to be installed. I will get to work on it very soon. It should be easy enough to do, as I picked up a spare intake manifold on Ebay. I am shooting to have a 80 shot, 20 per cylinder. It will be a good boost in power for this slug. It currently runs a meek 17.6 in the 1/4 mile. I am planning to get that in the low 16's with the nitrous.
Later this summer, I will be throwing a turbo on the car. I am planning on recycling the T3/T04B-V trim turbo that was on my 300ZX for this project. I may do a full rebuild of the motor with forged pistons and shot peened rods in the stock KA24 engine. I am still up in the air about the fuel management. I am either going the cheap route with a fuel management unit, which multiplies the fuel pressure based on boost pressure, or I am going with an electronic upgrade. This option will be either a Jim Wolf Technology ECU, injectors and MAF upgrade, or an additional injector(s) controller. I will work all that out sometime in the future.
Future plans include new paint along with a Bomex body kit. I will most likely be upgrading to S14A (97-98) looks with the headlights, front fenders, hood and tail lights. I have always loved that look, but I was unwilling to pay in the upwards of 12k to get a 97-98 240SX. I will also be doing some suspension upgrades. Poly bushings, coilovers and adjustable suspension pieces along with some wheels. The interior won't be left untouched either. I am planning on switching the green-blue-grey blah interior to black. Add to that some racing seats and a stereo system. And for next year, I will more than likely be dropping in the motor from my 300ZX Turbo. 500+ hp at the wheels, along with a shitload of torque will do wonders for this car. I plan on making this car an all purpose street car. I want to show, race, drift and cruise in this bad boy. As with any long term project, I am sure its purpose will change somewhat over time. Keep checking back for updates.
