ADAM'S HYPERMOTIVE GARAGE

I picked up some new go-fast goodies for my 300zx.  Howabout a T64E from Precision Turbo? Yeah, its a big dog. It looks small, but capable of 700 horsepower. Its a T04E Compressor housing with a T66 compressor wheel. The turbine is a P trim wheel with a .69 A/R housing. Its going to be 'top-mounted' on a custom manifold. Its depressing to have a turbo car, and have to point out where the turbo is to the average joe. So this upgrade will be out in the open for all to see. I am hoping to put it towards the front driver's side of the motor, just forward of the shock tower. To regulate the bypassed exhaust gas, I also picked up a HKS Racing S/S 50mm wastegate. This thing is huge. It will be mounted just to the rear of the turbo, next to the driver's side valve cover. I am still up in the air about having it dump back into the exhaust. I prolly will, just because the down pipe will be right underneath it. To supply the extra fuel needed, i bought a set of SARD 700cc top feed O-ring injectors. These injectors were originally made as an upgrade for the all mighty Skyline GTR, but I think they will work well for me also. I will have to fabricate new fuel rails to make them work. I'm using extruded fuel rail stock to accomplish this, easy enough. I have called on Jim Wolf Technology to provide me with a new chip to control the bigger injectors. I am currently using their Z31 4 bar program, so an upgrade should be easy enough. I have to send them an injector to be flowed, and then they will burn me a chip that 'should' work. I will have to put in some dyno time with a wide band O2 to make sure its all in order, as JWT doesn't make a program with 700cc injectors for the Z31. With all this new equipment, I am hoping for 500-550 hp at the wheels, on the turbo alone. The nitrous will still be there, but I might just use it as a spool-up system if the lag is horrible, or as a small 'bump' for the track. I am expecting 10 second passes once its all in order, on pump gas mind you. I also recently picked up some Bogart race wheels. The fronts are 15 x 3 with M+H tires. The rears are 15 x 10 with 26 x 10.5 Mickey Thompson ET Drags. These are full slicks. The wheels themselves are ultra light, not for street use at all. The fronts weigh in at 10 lbs. each with tires, and the rears are 18 lbs. each with tires. Too make sure I don't have any unwanted over squatting, I have purchased some Airlift airbags. They will go into the rear springs and filled with air to prevent serious negative camber during launches. I also contacted a well known axle manufacturer to make some bullet proof stub axles. We'll see how that all works out in a lil while. I might just need to upgrade to a domestic rear end set-up. We'll see.
