72—concerning the strength of Patrick and Mimi’s passions for one another—Fragment of a Typed Copy of a Letter—Undated, the Original Copy has not been found, it is assumed that the author of this letter was Patrick’s wife, Michele, written during their brief separation. It has been said on many occasions that Michele was never comfortable speaking English much less writing it, especially considering the lack of English language news bites that exist concerning her. The misconception about her lingual abilities has grown so much that the common belief nowadays is that she spoke no English at all. This letter proves her comfort with the language. It is also worthy to note that since this letter lays to rest one misconception about her, it should go far into putting a doubtful light on some of the other more popular rumors about her moral nature.

“…..once cooled left me to thinking about us. As I sat there I thought that I wanted to kill you, I really did. I wanted to kill you and I thought about killing myself as well. I even made a plan to do it, and I imagined almost blissfully what it would be like to be found together, bloodied, dead, entwined and how different would it be than the times we made love, except for the part about death. How ludicrous is that for saying, “once cooled”?

            I make no sense.

My point, Patrick is that you’re wrong in saying that our love has disappeared or cooled or vanished, you’re deluding yourself. How can you touch me so deeply and my impression has disappeared. Your rationalizations for it astounded me then as they do now. And yesterday when you looked at me, I know you still felt it, my love, it almost killed you. Even in silence we can torture one another, it seems as if we were built to torture each other.

Patrick we were put on this world to feel, we are the same sort of creature you and I. We are inexplicable, we are entwined, we are emotional, and we are sensual. We are affected by each other, the thought of each other and the very fact that you deny it so strongly only proves that I am right.

I have tried my best to form a different life for myself. It is impossible because I don’t belong to myself anymore as myself, I will never be a separate entity. Love is a funny thing because we cannot manufacture it, we can only manipulate it, and sometimes, we can inadvertently awaken it but I don’t think we can ever truly expunge it from our hearts.

The only time I can think of where it has not taxed or pained me emotionally has been during childbirth and even then, the pain a woman must feel is excruciating. But the pain is not unbearable, it is beautiful a physical manifestation of the emotional tears in life….”

Battle of the Saints

Two Saints named Cecilia may be Too Many

Rome, ItalyAs festivities are being prepared for the celebration of Saint Cecilia’s day which is officially November 22 outside of the Vatican, a sense of unease prevails, especially as one listens to the warring picketers on either side of the street.

The original Saint Cecilia was a first century martyr for the Christian faith and has been throughout the centuries one of the most beloved saints, the patron of Martyrs and Musicians. She was a symbol for the beginnings of Christianity. And some more fervent supporters of her memory are taking a firm and unyielding stand against the upcoming canonization of Sister Cecilia Lafet which will be on October 17, twenty one years to the day after her assassination in a New York suburb. Canonizing Sister Lafet, they declare, will only push the true Saint Cecilia into a distant memory and erase her importance to the Catholic Church.

Sister Lafet, detractors point out, was never really a nun, she was antagonistic to the Catholic Church on almost all factors, and had even gone so far to say on a few occasions that she knew for a fact that Jesus never died on a cross. The Crucifix she wore, is a sign of her hypocrisy it is said. The so called “Supporters of the Real Cecilia” maintain that Sister Lafet’s canonization is not due to any true evidence that she had performed any sort of miracles but only the Church bending to the sentimentality of a world that loved her as a talented and showy diplomat. The Church also, they claim, is trying to win over public support that has waned in the light of numerous sex scandals, accusations of misogyny and homophobia, and even political conspiracies.

The supporters of Sister Lafet are numerous and gather to protest the protesters in rallies that sometimes cross the line of aggressions. They accuse the SRC of resorting to a petty smearing campaign to discredit the miracles of Sister Lafet. They are referring to the SRC’s claim that there is evidence of Cecilia’s insatiable sexual appetites which would greatly embarrass her memory and that of another individual.

Attacks on Sister Lafet’s morals are not new, her supporters note, due to her great physical beauty. Even while she was alive there have been numerous claims of photographic evidence of promiscuity but never once has the public seen such pictures…….

Hockey Star Scores a Steal

A rare incomplete set of Saint-Saens’ treasures sold

New York—“I am sick of the search, I am dying and looking at the empty case only increases my pain,” was the reason Multi-Billionaire Terry Cromwell gave for selling a set of Saint-Saens original bracelets for a fraction of their market value. Cromwell has been diagnosed with fatal complications resulting from a Small Pox vaccination that originated in the 11882 JHM cases that had been tainted by terrorist design. Cromwell will have the dubious distinction of being the last living survivor of the notorious biological attack from two years ago that took the lives of 728 civilians and 80 health workers.

It seemed as if Cromwell had beaten the odds and recovered from the virus and had by all accounts been doing well until two months ago when health complications from his illness began a systematic shut down of his bodily systems, but upon hearing that he would not recover, he began to sell off every valuable antique and collectible in his New York mansion at garage sale prices. His reason being, that he wanted to see people who would not normally be able to afford some of the art he possesses go home with something they appreciate.

Cromwell’s most treasured possessions were the famous Saint-Saens one of kind bracelets, a set of sixteen made of gold and encrusted with precious jewels. Cromwell had fifteen and the only one he had been missing was the infamous “Patriot” which had seemingly disappeared in 1986 when it was first purchased, and made a rumored brief reappearance in 2003 when it was quickly sold and resold. Other than that no other note was made of its whereabouts despite Cromwell’s repeated pleas to buy the bracelet from whoever owned it for over ten times its value, which could have been upwards of ten million dollars.

Yesterday, Cromwell sold his set of fifteen bracelets for seven and a half million dollars to future Hockey Hall of Fame alumni Frederick Roy. The market value of the set, even incomplete, is estimated at twenty million dollars. A witness to the sale noted to Mr. Roy that he never knew that he was such a connoisseur of collectible jewelry to which Roy replied that he was buying them as a gift to his wife Isabella. When it was mentioned that the set was incomplete, Mr. Roy merely smiled.

Terry Cromwell has stated that all of the proceeds from his “estate sale” will go to charities.

Sister Lafet’s Murderer Assassainated

Denver, Colorado—Father Patrick Edward Mallory was murdered late last night as he was being transported to Denver International Airport for extradition to New York to face charges for the murder of Sister Cecilia Lafet on October 17 of this year. Mallory was shot while in police custody in the parking garage of the Denver Police Department by a grieving admirer of Sister Lafet.

Little is known of the man in custody, it is believed his name is Timothy O’Shea and he shot Mallory once in the head with a pistol. He was overcome by police officers and detained. Mallory died on arrival to Denver General Hospital.

O’Shea was heard to say that he owed the health of his son to Sister Lafet and that Mallory would pay in Hell for what he’s done……

(Excerpt from a News Article)

…..saw a man actually kissing Sister Lafet the day before her death. This witness wishes to remain unidentified and has not come forward previously because of her fear that there are those who would retaliate against her for repeating what she saw. She maintains that Sister Lafet was consensually kissing an unknown man in the pews of the Cathedral in broad daylight. The kiss was not chaste, and it struck her as odd.

Although this man is not a suspect as of yet, he is the last known person to actually come into contact with Sister Lafet. The police would like to talk to him. He is described as being about six feet tall…….

Stunning Debut from a Ballerina Princess

Not even a snub from Sister Lafet can mar the entrance of an ingénue

Rome, Italy—There had been so much buzz about this girl from every ballet insider in the industry even though she had not even starred in a principle role onstage, that the Pope requested an audience for her debut at the Christmas Festivities in the Vatican. The guest list was stunning and the girl, Elena Ruiz, 17 did not disappoint. As a seat designated for petulant World Savior Sister Cecilia Lafet yawned with emptiness, Miss Ruiz danced solos from four different acclaimed ballets.

Not a dry eye remained in the house after the girls performance which was described by many as angelic, effortless, flawless, exquisite, erotic, breath taking, sensual and finally put to words by the Pope himself as, “the swaying apex of all the beauty God can create.” Miss Ruiz performed five encores and never seemed to tire at any time; in fact she was described as only more beautiful with each passing moment.

She has received offers already from almost every prominent ballet company on the globe and seems set to enchant for years to come.

When asked about the snub from Sister Lafet, whom private sources quoted as calling the ballet “frivolous and inconsequential to my time”, Miss Ruiz answered, “I wasn’t looking to her or depending on her for a job. She can practice her magic tricks and I can dance my magic, I doubt our audiences will ever cross.”…..

King Of The Kiddie Corps

Montreal's Patrick Roy leads the wave of kids who disprove the theory that old goalies are best

By Bob Kravitz

Issue date: October 13, 1986

Sports Illustrated FlashbackFor one day last spring Montreal forgot it was a city of sophistication and simply went gaga over its newest and least-expected Stanley Cup champions. As the parade line of top-down convertibles moved up rue Ste.-Catharine, the crowds poured adoration on their Canadiens. None received more than Patrick Roy, the 20-year-old goalie who had just become the youngest player ever to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs.

The cries of "Rooooo-ah, Roooooo-ah" that had punctuated every Canadiens playoff game now resounded along the parade route. And then a handful of young girls broke loose. They rushed Roy and ripped off his shirt. Roy, a gregarious sort, responded with a spontaneous, bare-chested boogie atop the car's trunk.

By any measure, Roy's had been a season of discovery, one that culminated in the stuff of dreams. Here he was, a rookie from Quebec City, being called up to play for les Habitants, the legendary winners of 22 Stanley Cups but a team that had fallen on rancorous hard times -- it hadn't been in a Cup final in six seasons and had undergone five coaching changes over that same span. Unexpectedly, with this rookie maintaining a 3.35 goals-against average in the regular season, the Canadiens finished second in the Adams Division. Then, going with Roy in every playoff game, the Canadiens stormed past Boston, Hartford and the Rangers to make the Cup finals once again. There, they disposed of Calgary in five games. Roy had a 1.92 goals-against average in playoff play.

Just a few years ago the notion that a kid such as Roy could strap on a set of pads and dominate the playoffs would have been so outrageous as to be almost unthinkable….

…"Oh, I'm not so bad," Roy says. But Lucien Deblois, a former teammate from whom Roy rents a basement apartment, says his prize tenant is as alert to the proximity of a set of golden arches as he is to goalposts. "Give Patrick the choice of any place to eat, and he'll go to McDonald's," he says. "Sometimes, he'll come upstairs to talk or watch TV, and he brings this big bag of barbecue chips -- and then pours vinegar all over them."

Hey, a guy needs an occasional jolt of over-the-counter energy to maintain the pace Roy set this summer. All those promotions and golf tournaments, answering the bags of mail, signing the autographs for kids waiting outside his apartment or his family's home in Quebec City. These are busy times.

"I have my two feet on the ground," he says in English, a language in which he is only beginning to feel comfortable. "I know this is all a dream. I understand that. So I lived with my family this summer, and I have the same friends. We still do the same things we've always done: play deck hockey, softball. . . . It's important not to change.

"I don't want to be a one-year player. I want to have a long, successful career. And the way to do that is to not forget how you got successful in the first place. I once asked (35-year-old defenseman) Larry Robinson, 'How do you stay excited after all this time? How do you stay interested with all the games and all the travel?' And he said, 'Every game is something new, like the start to a career, so it never gets boring.' " ……..
