My name is Kevin Morris and I have been the ESL Specialist at Sportfield Elementary school since 1998. I came to Hanau Germany from the state of Washington, where I am certified to teach K-12 German, Russian, ESL and Bilingual Education. My educational background is as follows:

Seattle Pacific University (Teacher Certification) Seattle, WA, 1997

University of Washington (Master of Arts, Germanics) Seattle, WA, 1994

University of Washington (Bachelor of Arts, German Language & Literature) Seattle, WA, 1993

University of Colorado (Bachelor of Arts, Russian Language & Literature) Boulder, CO, 1987

Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Center (Diploma, Russian Language) Monterey, CA, 1982

Casper College (Associate of Arts, French & German) Casper, WY, 1980

In the past I have taught German both at the high school and at the grade school levels in addition to teaching German at the university level. I also have taught Russian at the university level and to adults in the Boulder, CO community via a continuing education program. In regard to English as a Second/Foreign Language, I have taught ESL in Denver, CO and EFL in Berlin, Germany. My academic interests lie in the field of Germanics, Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition (SLA). My academic goal is to someday complete my Ph.D.

I also served in the U. S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves from 1980 to 1991 as a German and Russian linguist in the field of Intelligence Gathering and Analysis. I served overseas in Berlin Germany and had the wonderful opportunity to experience Berlin before, during and after the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Besides acquiring my native-like command of the German language, I also had the chance to travel and experience much of Germany and Europe.
