HIGH AND LOW COURTS

High meaning high in altitude or high in a building.  Low meaning below sea level or below ground level.  Courts are playable, except in the case of the Titanic.

GYMTIT.JPG (31644 bytes)The lowest court is, of course, that in the Titanic.  This sits some 12,460 feet (2.36 miles), 3,799 metres (3.8Km) or 2,077 fathoms below sea level some  800 miles (1,280Km) south of Newfoundland in the Atlantic Ocean..  All the wood has long gone and the court would be unrecognizable except for the space.  For further details click here.  Click on the picture to see a bigger view.  This shows the gymnasium and shows the style of decoration and furniture used in those far off days.  Unfortunately a picture of the Squash court has not yet been traced.
The following description will be of interest.  "The first on-board swimming pools were installed as was a gymnasium that included an electric horse and an electric camel, a squash court, a number of rowing machines, and stationary bicycles, all supervised by a staff of professional instructors".

If you click on the picture you will get a bigger map.  Rotterdam is just below the "L" in Netherlands.
