Kakkoi Dias-sama! Bishie through and through. Yes,in the TV Anime,he is that red-haired hottie.In the OVA, he's the blondie but still hottie bishie. And the manga! *swoons* Bishie all around!
Dias Ragu is a 27 year old master smith living in Proruhan. He used to be a Kurudan Valle but after contracting a slow-acting illness,he has decided to retire in Proruhan and make weapons for a living. Dias is a master smith, his weapons cannot be rivalled by any. Take his boomerang the "Black Wing" for example.
Akin to his weapon, Dias Ragu, as the Black Wing valle, is a most fearsome fighter indeed. He is known throughout Kuruda eventhough he has never made the title of Sevalle.
And why not you ask? When Elle was a young girl, she contracted an illness that threatened her life. This self-same illness caused her parents' death and the cost of the medicine was high. Dias, in order to save her, pushed himself hard, hiring himself out as a mercenary. He managed to save Elle's life but in consequence, his own body deteriorated. Dias could have become a sevalle if not for his illness. But since he was ill, he never got to be sevalle and Elle became one instead.
So now the eulogies to the perfect bishie starts! *locks room so no one can get away* As you can all see Dias loves Elle very very much. Enough to sacrifice his own life. Aside from being self-sacrificing, he's also loyal, kind, friendly, handsome, sexy, kakkoi, handsome, protective, did i say handsome? and a damn exceptional warrior too! In one word...PERFECT! And Gau is going to turn out like that when he gets older *nods head and ignores groans from Kuruda Mailing List* 
Back to the anime...Soludufan has heard of Black Wing *rolls eyes*(Who hasn't?) and wants him for their own. Everybody just loves Dias! So they pull off an elaborate maneuver involving the Hui Reme Gana Gee to lure Elle away from Proruhan so they can capture Dias. Unfortunately their plan is foiled as Scarface sends Gau to Proruhan to protect Dias. (Yes, this is the Black Howling episode)*bounces in glee*
Dias is saved and he returns to Kuruda since Proruhan isn't safe for him. He helps out as G barges into Kuruda and saves the burning city. Life would have been just jolly if not for a certain manipulative bast**rd...
Scarface: Hey, I resent that...
Swyth-chan: Well its true! so there...*sticks tongue out and runs behind Dias*
Because Scarface wanted to test Gau after G died, he sent Darkness to challenge Gau. Dias, being the perfect protective brother, rushed to save Gau and fought Darkness. *bonks Darkness in irritation* Dias fought with exceptional skill. Ye gads! The man rocks with his "Black Wing". And he won! Or at least to me he won. Its a matter of perspective since he died and Darkness didn't. But then again Darkness is non-human so...
Anyway, rest assured that Dias is not necessarily dead. At least not according to the manga...Kai *huggles Kai-sama* (adorable adorable man!) with Darkness' help (Alright, Darkness-sama you're forgiven) has sealed Dias' soul in Darkness' eye until such a time as Crimson/Kai orders Darkness to do something...*bounces over to Darkness-sama and tries to pry his eye open, chanting "Give 'em back!"*
'Pon Black Wing's death, the title "Sword of Ashlianna", the highest honor paid to a warrior, was given to him by Princess Lilivelt of Juliannes. I for one am not contesting the appointment but fat lot its going to do poor Dias *sniff* (yes, this is the aftereffects of watching Dias die). Anyway, the title was awarded to a Kurudan to avert any clash between the Four Fighters after Ren stirred up a veritable beehive of trouble. It is a fitting remembrance to the Black Wing...*sniff*
“Yes, you are the hope for our future. I am very glad she found someone like you.” -to Gau, in Proruhan, when Elle took a detour before proceeding to the Four Fighters ceremony
“Enemies will experience true fear when facing a Kuruda mercenary…one Kuruda mercenary is worth a thousand soldiers.” -Dias explaining, Soludufan soldiers vs Gau in Proruhan
“Remember! Everyone of us consumes our own lives. You must find a reason to fight, a personal reason to fight that will consume your own life.” -Dias advising Gau, Soludufan soldiers vs Gau in Proruhan
“Everyone has a battle that can only be fought by one’s own self.” -Dias' favorite line, you can't belive how many times this was used in the episode where G comes into Kuruda
“There is a fine line that divides that of a man and a beast. Once you cross that line…that is the distinction between the proud valle and the beast.” - to Gau, Dias warning Gau away from the pitfall that G experienced
“Kyo, protect him. There is nothing more dangerous than a valle wrestling with death.” -Dias to Kyo, before Kyo runs after distraught Gau, pre-Gau vs G, G has entered Kuruda
“Say nothing. To protect his king, that is the least of my duties as a valle.” -to King Falkai after presenting himself f to the King. The man is a total babe, responsible and kind too!
“All who fight must draw the line that they will stick to to the end.” -referring to the valle and beast thingie
“Scarface, you did it again!” -an exasperated Dias reprimands Scar-sama becuase Scar-sama is manipulating Gau, burning of Kuruda
“That stupid boy is still emotionally unstable.” -to Scarface, referring to Gau going off to fight G
“You must be mad if you think I’m going to let you do this.” -to Scarface, after Scarface told him that Gau has gone off to fight G and Dias realized that Scarface manipulated Gau
“I don’t want to think that he fought for nothing.” -to Scarface, near the broken statue of G, pre-Darkness vs Dias
“You need to build yourself by searching inside yourself not inside others.” -to Scarface, near the broken statue of G, reprimanding him that he shouldn't manipulate other people...its sort of a polite way of telling Scar-sama to "get your nose out of my brother's life, you bastard." ^_^v
“Then I am the almighty power that destroys you.” -to Darkness, after Darkness warns him of his non-human status, Dias vs Darkness
“Don’t come here. I told you this is my battle to fight, not yours.” -to Elle as Elle moves to fight Darkness, Dias vs Darkness
“I am still alive, I am standing with my own willpower. Gau, I am still standing. A Kuruda fighter who can still fight will never be defeated.” -to Gau, battered and very badly wounded but still standing to face Darkness, DIas vs Darkness
“My soul, I ask you once more. Give me the wings so I can fight, give me the wings so I can fly, give me the wings so I can continue!” -beseeching himself for added power! Totally awesome display of ethereal wings as Dias triumphs over Darkness
