Battle Of The Strongest

At the beginning of this movie, we see Son Gokuu's father, Bardock, about to confront Freeza, for Bardock is the only Saiya-jin aware of Freeza's plan to destroy the planet Vegeta. The rest of the Saiya-jin look on cluelessly as Bardock prepares a rather tiny blast(by the way, Bardock is beat the funk up because of Freeza's little helpers. This is shown in the Bardock TV special.). Freeza charges up his ever-popular finger blast and aims at the saiya planet. Bardock throws his energy blast, but it has no effect, and all the Saiya-jin are wiped out. We are now inside a ship, the destruction of the planet seen through a viewscreen. this ship is occupied by four alien-like creatures. The first is an ugly, green-skinned dude with LONG black hair(Doore). The second is a red humanoid salamander(Neizu). The third is a blond, blue-faced pretty boy (Sauzaa). Each of them is wearing standard Saiya armor. While watching the destruction of the planet, one of the punks sees a Saiya space capsule zipping off. A closer look into the capsule reveals a Saiya baby(Son Gokuu.) After Bardock found out about Freeza's plan, he sent the capsule off. Is it just me, or does this remind everyone of Superman? you know, planet being destroyed, baby sent to earth...never mind.) The punks are about to shoot it down, but a voice calls out, "Leave it alone!" The three punks turn around and bow to a figure in a hover-chair(the chair is shown from the back for the time being). The voice goes on to say "This is Freeza's area, let him take care of it." He goes on to say that Freeza has a lot to learn. Then the chair turns around, and we see a creature that looks a heck of a lot like Freeza(This is Freeza's brother, Cooler). Fast-foward to about 20 years in the future. Gokuu is training himself by parting the sea at the Kame House, just like Moses. Kamesennin tells him that that's enough training for one day, then thinks to himself that Gokuu has become a lot stronger since coming back from Nameck. Meanwhile, at Gokuu's house, Gohan is stuck inside doing math problems, as usual. Chichi is surprised to see the Haiyaa Dragon pop up by the window, then tells it to go away. Then Gokuu's voice pipes up from a distance, telling Haiyaa Dragon to leave Gohan alone so he can do his studying. Chichi is shocked that Gokuu wants Gohan to study, and then gets it into her head that Gokuu is dying. As Gokuu walks into the kitchen, Chichi attempts to embrace Gokuu, but Gokuu moves out of the way at the last second, and she flops on the floor. Then Gokuu yells for Gohan to hurry up and finish, so they can go camping. Chichi can't believe that she was worried for her husband. Then she notices Oolong and Klylin standing in the doorway and realizes they're coming along too. Chichi gets right up in Gokuu's face and yells out, "What's more important? Camping or Studying?" "Well that's obvious, isn't it?"says Gokuu. Chici smiles and nods her head. "Camping, of course!" Chichi flops onto the floor. On a deserted planet, Cooler and his little helpers have just received news that Freeza has been killed....by a Saiya-jin from Earth, no less. Cooler doesn't believe that this is possible....unless it was a Super Saiyajin! He orders his men to head straight for Earth and destroy every last Saiya-jin... like they did on this planet! In the forest, the three campers, along with the Haiyaa Dragon, are casually building a fire, when a stranger comes up from behind and drops Klylin. Gohan is dropped as well, while Doore(seeing Gohan's Saiya-jin tail), wonders if this is the punk that killed Freeza. But Gokuu,(who had been fishing, and caught that same huge fish that he always catches), comes up, and tells them that HE'S the one who killed Freeza. But Neizu's scouter shows an average power rating, so Sauzaa decides to go for a demonstration. "Just who are you?" demands Gokuu. "WE ARE COOLER'S ARMORED SQUADRON!" they announce, as they perform a stupid- looking team pose(a la the Ginyuu team) and leap skyward. Gokuu flies up to fight them, and doesn't have much trouble. Then, they decide to leave the rest up to Cooler, as the monster arrives. "F-Freeza?" Gokuu stammers. Cooler sees Gohan flying through the air, so he yells, "Death to all Saiya-jins!" and shoots a laser from his eyes. "GOHAN!" Gokuu rushes up to save his son, and takes the blast right through the back! He tumbles toward the ground, holding his son in his arms. Father and son go crashing into a river and off a waterfall. Cooler catches up and lets loose a blast that pretty much empties out the whole lake. The henchmen think that Gokuu is dead, but Cooler knows better. He orders his three punks to search for the Saiya-jins and kill them on the spot. Meanwhile, Gokuu and his son have somehow avoided Cooler's blast, and are washed up on shore. Gohan freaks when he sees the huge wound that Cooler put in Gokuu. Elsewhere, the too-cute-for-its-own-good Haiyaa Dragon licks Klylin's face to wake him up, and Oolong is happy that his friend is still alive. But they'll have to hurry to save the others, because Cooler's little helpers are blasting away at the forest to drive the Saiya-jin out. Gohan drags his unconcious dad into the mouth of a cave, and the rocks cave them in. Cooler's little helpers are frustrated that the Saiya-jin hasn't been found, and one of them thinks they should just destroy the planet. But Cooler comes in, and says,"I could just destroy this planet, and all the Saiya-jin with it, but I have my pride." He tells them to keep looking tirelessly until they find the wimpy Saiya-jin. They bow down to his command. Klylin and company have been searching for their two friends, and Haiyaa Dragon motions them over to a pile of rocks. They suddenly hear a voice from under the rocks. It's Gohan, and in no time, he and his brutally wounded father are freed. Gokuu, goody-goody that he is, tells Klylin to help the wounded animals. However, after Oolong frees a rabbit from under a rock pile, he causes an avalanche. Klylin saves his friend by blasting a rock headed straight for him. This makes Neizu's scouter beep, and he heads toward the scene, but just then, a huge bird flies right by his head, nearly decapatating him(this guy has a retractable head. Don't ask). He immediately figures it was just that bird and flies away in a different direction. Klylin is worried that they've been spotted, so Gohan is ordered to fly to Karin Tower to pick up some Senzus. The boy decides to ride Haiyaa Dragon, so as not to get caught. They fly off, and pass right over Sauzaa's head. It's morning by that time they finally make it to Karin Tower. Gohan begins to climb up the pole. When he gets up, he asks Karin-sama for some senzu beans. Karin refuses to give Gohan the beans unless he goes back down and climbs ALL the way up. Reluctantly, Gohan complies. Just then Yajirobe steps in and tosses Gohan a whole bagful of the beans. The boy thanks him, but Karin argues, saying that he was trying to teach Gohan a lesson. Finally, Karin lets him have it. Just as the cat master is about to toss a senzu in his mouth, Yajirobe snatches it away and flicks it to Gohan, saying, "You might need this one too!" Gohan slips it under his belt and jumps from the tower, calling the dragon, and they begin to make their way back. Klylin revives Gokuu, and assures him that Gohan will return soon. However, the Haiyaa Dragon is growing weary(flying all night probably had something to do with it), and seems ready to collapse. Gohan sticks a senzu in its mouth and suddenly, it jumps to warp speed, almost throwing Gohan off. The boy giggles as they speed through the sky. However, the burst of energy has alerted the scouters of Cooler's henchmen, and they begin the chase. They're all very pissed, and one of them shoots the Haiyaa Dragon. They beat up on Gohan for a while, until Doore notices the bag Gohan is clutching tightly. Doore tries to take it away, but Gohan refuses. "Fine. I'll just take it from you when you're DEAD!" bellows the monster. Suddenly, Doore is shot from behind by a powerful Ki blast! He turns around and sees Piccolo. (If your familiar with the movies, you're used to the concept of Piccolo saving Gohan's lil' ass.) Piccolo orders the boy to bring the bag to his father, but Doore gets pissed and attacks. The Nameck warps out and appears just above Doore's head and bashes him into the ground (ouch!). Then, as he takes on Cooler's other henchmen, he yells for Gohan to escape. But Doore recovers and begins to chase Gohan. Piccolo fires a "guided ball" at the creature(leaving him to wonder how the ball can be chasing him). Piccolo proceeds to kick butt. At last, Doore turns around to catch the blast and gets fried. This pisses off Neizu, who powers up, warns his comrade, and shoots a special blast at Piccolo. The energy from this blast surrounds the Nameck and slowly drains his life away. Sauzaa goes after the kid, as Neizu gets right up in Piccolo's face and says,"You've got five seconds left. Still think you're so hot?" "Of course," Piccolo says casually. With that he grabs Neizu by the head and transfers the energy into Neizu's body, leaving a charred, blackened figure. Still strong enough to fight, Piccolo fires two "guided balls" at Sauzaa, who simply swats them away. Piccolo starts knocking him around, until the evil minion ducks into the forest to fight. Sauzaa creates an energy Blade on his hand and tries to slice Piccolo. Finally, the Nameck kicks Sauzaa back into the sky. All of a sudden, a voice booms from above. "SAUZAA! GET THE CHILD!" Piccolo turns around and gets blasted by Cooler. "F-Freeza?!?" It looks like he's down for now. Meanwhile, Gohan makes it back to his dad, then decides to look for Haiyaa Dragon. As the boy hands the bag to Klylin, it gets blasted and drops to the ground. Sauzaa is standing in the mouth of the cave, and announces "So there you are!" Klylin is pissed, and attacks the minion. "So...close..." groans the discouraged Gokuu. Gohan swears, but just then, he remebers the extra Senzu that Yajirobe gave him, under his belt. He pops it in his father's mouth. Klylin tries to blast Sauzaa, but gets slammed into the ground. Gohan attacks, but is dropped as well. At that, Sauzaa heads for the cave to finish off Gokuu. Suddenly, his scouter goes off, causing him to freak. The enormous power goes higher and higher until his scouter explodes, and out steps Gokuu. "You aren't even worth working up a sweat," says the warrior. "I advise you to go back to were you came from." Just then he sees Klylin and Gohan collapse on the ground. But before he has a chance to kick ass, Cooler pops up, holding the unconcious body of Piccolo. "The fool thought he could stop us," mocks Sauzaa. This is the price he paid for getting in our way!" Cooler throws the body at Gokuu, but before he can catch the Nameck, Cooler blows Piccolo out of the sky. Sauzaa takes a whack at Gokuu, but the warrior barely even felt it. (The Punch/Kick/Blast-In-The-Face/Belly/Groin-Has-No-Effect gag is used in pretty much every DBZ movie.) "DAMN YOU...AND NOW PICCOLO?!?" Gokuu snarls. Cooler mocks him saying,"I never knew the Saiya-jin were capable of being emotional." "I AM A SAIYA-JIN...BUT I WAS RAISED ON EARTH!!!" With that, Gokuu powers up so tremendously it blows Sauzaa into a mountain. The warrior attacks Cooler, and begins to pound his sorry ass up. After a brief underwater bout, the monster seems impressed. "Now I see how you defeated my brother.." Cooler says. Then he tells Gokuu that he can transform himself into a shape his own brother couldn't. "You should be proud. You will be the first person to see this transformation...and the LAST!" Cooler begins to transform into a huge, ugly version of himself. "He's much stronger than Freeza..." admits Gokuu. After the proccess is complete, the alien assaults Gokuu and batters him. Gokuu gets knocked silly for a while, then Cooler pounds him into the wall of a mountain. The creature flies up into the sky and prepares a blast powerful enough to eradicate Earth. "I guess the Super Saiya-jin were just a fairy tale," mocks Cooler. Gokuu flashes on seeing Klylin, Gohan, Piccolo, all brutalized by this monster. Then he sees a dying bird on the ground, and apologizes to all for his inability to save the world from utter destruction. After giving the bird enough energy to fly on his own, Gokuu gets off his feet, powers up, and turns into....a SUPER SAIYA-JIN!(note: this is the first time that Gokuu actually becomes a Super Saiya-jin. That black-haired B.S. "Super Saiya-jin" in movie #4 don't count.) Cooler is so shocked, his death ball dissapates. Gokuu once again confronts Cooler. Cooler tries to punch Gokuu, but he takes it like nothing and says, "That's enough! How many planets must you destroy before you're satisfied?" Cooler freaks, and Gokuu unleashes a series of painful blows. As Cooler is still gasping for air from getting pounded in the stomach, he begins to laugh. He shoots Gokuu right in the face(no effect), and flies higher to form a planet-destroying ball. Gokuu freaks, and when Cooler lets the blast loose, Gokuu catches it with his bare hands. However, he cannot withstand the immense power, and begins to collapse under it. Cooler is pleased. "In one blow, the end of the planet...and the end of the Saiya-jins!" Gokuu won't give up that easily though, and Cooler is confused as he hears, "KA.....ME....HA....ME....HA!!!!!!" Gokuu blasts the ball right back at the monster(along with the extra pain added from his own blast), and Cooler is hurtled through space. Still alive(Cooler's kind can survive in space), the monster realizes this is the same brat who he had ordered his men not to shoot down. Whoops. "If only I had shot it down then...."Cooler reflects. "Freeza wasn't the only one who had a lot to learn!" With that, he is blown into the sun, and all physical traces of him dissapear. Back on Earth, Gokuu is exhausted. "I did it!" Just then, Gohan comes running up, calling out, "Daddy!" Klylin, Oolong and Haiyaa Dragon show up as well. As they reflect on their victory, a figure begins to crawl out of a pile of rubble. Gohan thinks it's Piccolo, and rushes towards it. Boy, is he surprised when Sauzaa pops up! Everyone freaks and are taken aback, as the minion shouts out, "DIE!!!! But before he gets the chance, a ki blast (which all faithful DBZ freaks will recognize as Piccolo's Makankosappo), comes out of nowhere and drills right through Sauzaa, killing him once and for all. Everyone is surprised, and Gohan calls out Piccolo's name repeatedly. Piccolo is revealed to be drinking some water out of a lake, his body thoroughly messed up. He hears his name being shouted, and just grunts at it.
