Android 16

Android 16 is very strong, but doesn't like to fight. Originally bad, he eventually becomes good... for more info, go to Android 16.

Android 18

The only female android made by Android 20/Dr. Gero, she eventually becomes good. For more info, go to Android 18.

  Angela/Enjira

Angela is the girl that practically falls in love with Gohan in a short period of time. She gets Gohan to go on a date with her, because he thinks she knows that he is the Great Saiyaman/Gureeto Saiyaman, but the secret she really knows is that he wears teddy bear underwear. On their date, she gets mad seeing Gohan and Videl/Beederu talking with each other, and she leaves. The next day, she is full in love, with some other guy in the class, which probably had a similar result in the end.

Bardock

Bardock, is the real father, to Goku/Gokou, as well as the father to Radditz/Radditzu. Bardock was one of the strongest Saiyans, while Planet Vegeta was still around. After (unwillingly) gaining the ability to see his people's future, he discovers that Frieza/Freezer is going to blow Planet Vegeta up. Before he knows this for sure though, he goes off to do battle on another planet, with his friends, as usual.

However, he arrives to find that his friends were killed by Frieza's henchmen, but more specifically by Dodoria. Bardock is also defeated by Dodoria, but after he learns of Frieza's plans from his dying friend. Bardock tries to warn the other Saiyans, to try to start a revolt, but they don't believe him. So, he sets off by himself, to go kill Frieza. However, Frieza creates a Deathball, easily defeating Bardock and destroying Planet Vegeta. Bardock's last wish is that Goku would grow up, and defeat Frieza for the Saiyans and for himself.

  Bra/Bura

The purple haired little sister to Trunks and the spitting image of her mother Bulma. Name is a pun on an article of ladies underclothing.

  Dr. Briefs

Bulma/Buruma's dad, and husband to Mrs. Briefs. He is also the head of the Capsule Corporation. His name, is a pair of mens underwear, as is all of the members in his family. He helps the Z team out, by building things for them, whether it be spaceships, or gravity training rooms.

  Mrs. Briefs

Bulma/Buruma's mom, and wife to Dr. Briefs. Although she is married, she is very flirtatious with both Goku/Gokou and Vegeta/Bejiita. Although she always means well, she is sometimes very ditzy.

Bubbles/Baburusu

The simian companion to King Kai/(North) Kaio-sama, also Goku/Gokou's sparring partner when he first arrives on King Kai's planet. His name is the same as Michael Jackson's chimp.

  Bulma/Buruma

The second character that is originally seen in Dragonball. Bulma has a fiesty personality, but she is also a genius, and heir to the Capsule Corporation. She meets Goku/Gokou for the first time, while she is off looking for the Dragonballs. She soon discovers that Goku has a Dragonball and after some persuading, they go off together to look for the rest of the Dragonballs. Bulma and Goku later meet up with everyone else, and Bulma begins going out with Yamcha/Yamucha.

Later, in Dragonball Z, she doesn't play a major role, except for the Namek/Furiiza Saga. There, she accompanies Krillin/Kuririn and Gohan on their journey to Namek. Later in the show, she gives birth to Trunks, fathered by Vegeta/Bejiita. At the end of Dragonball Z, she has a second child, a girl named Bura. Her name is a pun on the Japanese word "bloomers," as in girls' gym shorts...

Chi-Chi

Tomboy daughter of the once fearsome Ox-king/Gyuu Mao, she has fighting ability, but not compared to the Z team. Not to mention wife to Goku/Gokou, and mother of Gohan and Goten. She is very overprotective of Gohan, but she lets Goten do whatever he wants basically. Her name is a Japanese slang word for "breasts," as in the milk cow variety.

  Chiaotzu/Chaozu

A ghostly pale dead-ringer for one of those "kyonshi" or Chinese vampires, such as the ones seen in "A Chinese Ghost story". His name is the Chinese reading of the Japanese characters for "gyôza," or pot stickers. He is Tenshinhan's best friend, but in Dragonball Z he does not play a major role. He self destructs in an unsuccesful attempt to destroy Nappa. When he was wished back, he was just not strong enough to fight with the rest.

  Dende

An impetuous young Namekian, whose healing touch can restore fallen comrades. Later in Dragonball Z, during the Cell saga, he becomes God of the Earth after Kami-Sama and Piccolo/Piccoro fused. His name is the Japanese word "denden-mushi" referring to any mollusk of the class Gastropoda...

Gogeta/Gojiita

Gogeta is the fusion of Goku/Gokou and Vegeta/Bejiita in Dragonball Z movie 12. Gogeta is inredibly powerful, and is the only being that was able to defeat Janemba. However, if the fusion dance is done wrong, Fat Gogeta is the hideous result.

  Gohan

Gohan is a half Saiyan and half Human mix. In Japanese, his name means "rice" or just a meal in general. His father is Goku/Gokou and his mother is Chi-Chi, but he is named for Goku's adopted grandfather, Grandpa Gohan. When he is first seen in Dragonball Z, he is a book worm. Chi-chi makes him study all the time, and he has never been trained. However, in the Radditz/Radditzu fight, in a burst of anger he shows great power, and hurts Radditz badly. After the battle, Piccolo/Piccoro, realizes the potential that Gohan has and takes him off to train.

Piccolo unlocks the potential strength that he saw in Gohan during the fight. At this time, Piccolo and Gohan form a very close bond with each other. Gohan considers Piccolo to be his best friend. When Nappa and Vegeta/Bejiita arrive, Gohan is very nervous. This nervousness leaves him unable to fight in the beginning. However, his source of power, his rage takes over a few times, as he delivers hard hits. Gohan is about to be killed by Nappa, but Piccolo takes the blast for him. Then, Gohan is about to be killed again, but Goku arrives and saves him.

Later in the fight, when Goku is unable to fight, Gohan steps up. He goes toe to toe with Vegeta before he is finally knocked out. However, he then reflects the misfire of the Genki Dama, into Vegeta. Even later in the fight, Gohan turns Oozaru thereby defeating Vegeta.

After the fight, Gohan goes with Krillin/Kuririn and Bulma/Buruma in search of the Dragonballs. Gohan and Krillin eventually team up with Vegeta to fight the Ginyu force. Gohan is very brave, and holds his ground as best as he can against Recoome/Rikuumu, until he is defeated. Later, Gohan has to fight against Captain Ginyu in Goku's body. When fighting against Frieza/Freezer, it appears that Krillin has been killed. Seeing this, Gohan's rage takes control again, and Gohan unleashes a huge Ki blast that nearly devastates the suprised Frieza.

He is later wished back to Earth along with everyone else on Planet Namek. Gohan trains with Piccolo and Goku during the three years before the Androids arrive. However, when they do arrive, Gohan is still significantly weaker than Goku, Piccolo and Vegeta. Later on, Gohan goes with Goku into the Room of Spirit and Time. While training intensely in there, he manages to go Super Saiyan. Then, he flashes Super Saiyan II for a very brief second, while his rage got a hold of him.

In the Cell Games, to everybody's suprise, Goku appoints Gohan to fight for him. Gohan is doing decently against Cell/Seru, but is of no threat to him. However, Cell learns of Gohan's hidden powers, and unleashes all Hell upon the others to try to set Gohan off. However, Cell goes too far by killing Android 16, and triggers Gohan's transformation into Super Saiyan II. Gohan is now easily stronger then Cell, but when he is too stubborn to kill Cell immediately, Goku has to sacrifice himself to bring the self destructing Cell off of the planet. When Cell comes back, Gohan takes a devastatingly huge ki blast in protecting Vegeta. After this he is seriously hurt, but after encouragement from Goku, Gohan continues to fight and eventually wins the struggle with the help of all of the Z team.

In the Buu saga, Gohan is now older brother to Goten. He is now going to school in Satan City, which is where he meets his future wife, Videl/Beederu. In order to stop crime, he becomes the Great Saiyaman/Gureeto Saiyaman, a hero of justice! later joins the Budoukai, and then goes off with everyone else to fight. Gohan fights Doubler/Darbura to a tie. However, after unsuccesfully trying to stop Majin Buu from appearing, Gohan is presumed dead.

This is not the case, Gohan is now training with (East) Kaioshin and Kibit/Kibito on Kaioshin-Kai. Gohan unlocks the Zed Sword, something that neither Kaioshin or Kibit could do. While training the the Zed sword, Goku throws a heavy metal alloy block at it, and Gohan swings the sword, but it breaks upon impact. Out of the sword comes Old Kaioshin/Rou Kaioshin. Gohan's power is unlocked by him, and he becomes Mystic Gohan ("Mystic" is actually just a fan given name, and not an official stage or name). Gohan goes back to Earth, and fights Super Buu. He is easily stronger than Super Buu, but when Super Buu absorbs Gotenks, Gohan is no longer any match to him. Gohan is then absorbed into Buu. After being freed by Goku and Vegeta, he is then killed when Buu blows up the Earth. At the end of Dragonball Z, he is now married to Videl, and has a young daughter named Pan.

Granpda Gohan

Grandpa Son Gohan, is the man that found Goku/Gokou when Goku was still a baby. He takes care of Goku, and teaches him how to fight. Son Gohan was trained by Master Roshi/Muten Roshi, and was his best student. Gohan gives Goku his staff, the Nyoibo. Unfortunately, one time when Goku turned Oozaru, he stepped on his adopted grandfather, killing him. After his death, Goku remembers him by the four star Dragonball.

Goku/Gokou

Goku is the main character in Dragonball, and plays a major role in almost everything that happens. His real Saiyan name, is actually Kakarot/Kakarotto which is a play on the word "carrot". When we first meet him, he is a 13 year old boy, and he doesn't know anything about him being a Saiyan. He lived with Grandpa Gohan (for whom his first child is named after), the man who found Goku when he was only a baby. However, his real father is Bardock.

While looking for the Dragonballs with Bulma, they eventually come across Master Roshi/Muten Roshi. Goku then recieves Kintoun from Roshi, the flying cloud that only he could ride, since he was the only person present with a completely pure heart.

Eventually he goes off the train with Muten Roshi, where he meets his best friend Krillin/Kuririn. The two train there, for the 21st Tenkaichi Budoukai. Later in Dragonball, Goku goes on to defeat the Red Ribbon Army, and Piccolo Daimaou. He also enters many more Budoukais, trains under Korin/Karin, and Kami-sama.

In Dragonball Z, he has a son named Gohan. Goku soon learns that he is a Saiyan, not a human, when his brother Radditz/Radditzu comes to Earth. In order to defeat Radditz, Goku joins forces with his enemy Piccolo/Piccoro. Radditz is defeated, only when Goku sacrifices his own life to hold him down. When he is dead, he goes to King Kai/Kaio-sama's planet, where he trains under him. He learns the Kaio-ken, and the Genki Dama techniques there.

When he is revived, he gets back to Earth, just in time to save his son from being killed at Nappa and Vegeta/Bejiita's hands. Goku, displaying his new found power, easily defeats Nappa. He then fights with Vegeta, and eventually, after almost winning several times, he loses. With the help of the other warriors though, the battle is won.

On Planet Namek, Goku arrives just in time to save Gohan from being killed once again, but this time from the Ginyu force. Goku easily defeats all of them, displaying his awesome power obtained from training in 100x Earth's gravity. Goku fights Frieza/Freezer, and even with his newfound power was still losing, even after using the Kaio-ken, Genki Dama, and Kamehameha techniques. Frieza however, makes a huge mistake, when he nearly kills Piccolo/Piccoro , and then does kill Goku's best friend, Krillin. Goku then transforms into a Super Saiyan, and thereby easily defeats Frieza.

In the Android Saga, Goku suffers from the heart disease that Future Trunks/Mirai no Torankusu warned him about. He doesn't get to fight much against the androids, but does get to train under the Room of Spirit and Time, with Gohan. When fighting against Perfect Cell/Seru, Goku admits that he is not strong enough, and lets Gohan fight. However, after Gohan's refusal to kill Cell, Goku is forced to sacrifice himself, to stop an exploding Cell from blowing up the Earth. With Goku's encouragement, after Cell comes back again, Gohan is able to defeat Cell.

In the Buu saga, Goku is still dead, as he did not want to be wished back to life after the Cell Games. He comes back for one day to fight in a Tenkaichi Budoukai, and he meets his second son, Goten. The Budoukai gets interrupted, and eventually Goku has to fight Majin Vegeta. Goku and Majin Vegeta are dead even in strength, both at Super Saiyan II level. However, Majin Vegeta used a trick to beat Goku.

Before Goku's day on Earth is up, he gets a chance to fight Majin Buu, and he shows his newest form, Super Saiyan III. He also teaches Goten and Chibi Trunks/Chibi Torankusu, the fusion dance, in order to defeat Buu. Old Kaioshin/Rou Kaioshin, the Kaiou-shin that was locked in the Zed sword, eventually gives Goku his life, so he can go and fight with Buu, after fusing with Gohan using the Potara Earings. However, Goku winds up fusing with Vegeta, to form Vegetto/Bejitto. Finally, Goku is forced to use a Chou Genki Dama, to defeat Buu. At the end of Dragonball Z, he goes off with Ubuu, Buu's reincarnation, to train.

Goten

Goten Goku/Gokou and Chi-Chi's youngest son, and is incredibly strong for his age. He was born right after the Cell/Seru Games, and by the time of the Buu saga, he can already go Super Saiya-jin.

He enters the kid Budoukai with his best friend, Chibi Trunks/Chibi Torankusu, and after a close fight between the two, Trunks wins. Later, Goten fuses with Trunks to become Gotenks/Gotenkusu. By the end of Dragonball Z, he is a teenager, and for the most part is living a more peaceful, "normal" life.

There is not much of a pun in this particular name, although there is a certain symmetry between the names of Goku (father) and Goten. In Goku's case, the second character is "-kû," or sky, while in Goten's case, its "-ten," or heaven.

Gotenks/Gotenkusu

Gotenks is the fusion of Chibi Trunks/Chibi Torankusu, and Goten. He is very arrogant and cocky, but is also incredibly strong.

He fights Majin Buu unsucessfully several times, until he reveals, that like Goku/Gokou, he can go Super Saiya-jin III. His attacks are very childish, and most of them don't ever work. However, at several points he comes extremely close to defeating Buu.

The combination of the 30 minute time restriction on the fusion, his cockiness, and his childish attacks lead to his defeat.

Gregory

Gregory is the cricket compatriot to King Kai/(North) Kaio-sama, he is part of Goku/Gokou's training, during his brief stay at King Kai's. Gregory, is not very strong, but his speed was unmatched before Goku arrived.

Guru/Saichourou

Guru is the eldest Namek. When the Namek planet had disaster strike it, Guru was the one to kind've "restart" the entire race. He is father to all of the Nameks alive during the Frieza Saga that are living on Planet Namek. Nail/Neiru acts as his bodyguard, and out of all of his children, Guru seems to take favor in Dende. He dies during the Frieza saga, and with his death, the Namekian Dragnoballs disappear. When everybody is wished back however, he gives the power of the Dragonballs to the next eldest Namek, and then dies peacefully.
