10.26.2000- Change is bad. Change is really bad. November 6th means the start of Blue Submarine No. 6 at 6 PM. November 10th means Gundam W: Endless Waltz. It all sounds good, right? Well, that's about all the good there is. CNX has the first word on the new schedule. And, like the Absolution's new engines, it ain't pretty. Monday through Thursday look like this... 4:00 PM: Gundam W 4:30 PM: Sailor Moon 5:00 PM: DBZ 5:30 PM: Tenchi 6:00 PM: Batman 6:30 PM: Superman Oh yes... That's right... Gundam W has been moved to 4 PM! Gundam W will die at that slot. It's a show for a later audience. Little kids aren't watching it. Toonami's slowly letting it go. Of course, you'll notice ReBoot's not there. It gives me a small pleasure to laugh. Looks like the ReBoot fans don't have their show on, either. And, as you can see, there's an hour of Batman and Superman. These are the later KidsWB episodes. They're good, but THEY'RE NOT TOONAMI. I just don't feel they fit with Toonami's identity. Still, little kids like 'em. Sigh. If only the block led off with those two and ended with the more mature shows. Sigh. Fridays shake things up with this lineup... 4:00 PM: Gundam W 4:30 PM: Sailor Moon 5:00 PM: In-Flight Movie At least there's Gundam W. Here are the first four movies that we'll be seeing... November 10: Gundam W: Endless Waltz November 17: Batman/Superman: World's Finest November 24: DBZ: The World's Strongest December 1: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Now, we get to the Midnight Run. I really love the Midnight Run. It's so nice to watch an uncut Gundam W and then an episode of DBZ and then fall asleep. Well, as I've already said, Toonami's slowly letting it go... 12:00 AM: DBZ 12:30 AM: Tenchi No, the Tenchi will not be uncut. Toonami can't show a topless Ryoko because of American moral censors. Bah! Now, we get to the Rising Sun, and we see that Toonami still loves Thundercats for some unknown reason. Things aren't yet clear, but Gundam W will be on at noon. DBZ will be on at 12:30. The earlier time will be occupied (in no particular order) with Batman/Superman, SM, Tenchi, and Outlaw Star (premiering Nov. 11). A while ago, I got an e-mail from Kurt Shingledecker. Among other things, he said... It seems that the more popular toonami gets, the worse it becomes. THANK YOU SAGE'S RONIN PAGE FOR THIS INFO |
