Pointblank

 Leader of the Autobot Targetmasters (at least in the comics), Pointblank was capable of turning from a robot into a futuristic car, with Peacemaker as his Nebulan partner, who turned into a stereophonic sonic blaster.

Cartoon Bio (US):

Pointblank was part of a team of 12 Autobots, led by Hot Rod and Kup, who were launched through space by an explosion generated in Cybertron's Plasma Energy Chamber. Their ship eventually landed on the planet Nebulos, where they encountered the insane machinesmiths known as the Hive, and the Rebellion battling the Hive. A group of Decepticons led by Cyclonus had also arrived on Nebulos, and in their first battle, the Decepticons captured Pointblank and five others. The six remaining Autobots developed Headmaster technology and, binary-bonded with the members of the Nebulon Rebellion, were able to rescue their friends.

The Decepticons later struck back, after all 10 were binary-bonded to the Hive, creating both Headmasters and Targetmasters. However, Brainstorm scanned one of the Hive Targetmasters, and was able to duplicate the process. Pointblank and the others were then made into Autobot Targetmasters. Pointblank was partnered with the sharpshooter, Peacemaker. After defeating the Decepticons and their new leader Zarak on both Nebulos and Cybertron, Pointblank and the others returned to Nebulos. Optimus Prime charged them with disabling the Hive machines and helping the Nebulans rebuild their civilization. Pointblank and Cerebros were put in charge of the process.

Article 1

Pointblank served in Fortress Maximus's Autobot forces and along with many Autobots, left Cybertron for Nebulos when the war seemed hopeless. After having his weapon bioengineered into a Nebulan codenamed "Peacemaker", he helped rescue the captive Autobot Headmasters and along with all the other Transformers, left Nebulos for Earth. There, he was with the Autobot Targetmasters when they tried to rescue Buster Witwicky from the Decepticon island fortress. Pointblank was also present when Fortress Maximus met Autobot Commander Grimlock, who was at that time commanding the Autobots formerly under Optimus Prime's command. (Note: at this time, Fortress Maximus identifies several of his sub-section leaders, and Pointblank is positively identified as Targetmaster group leader.)

Article 2

Pointblank was a member of Fortress Maximus's army on Cybertron. He became tired with the constant fighting, and journeyed with Fortress Maximus and his band in the search of a peaceful life. They arrived on planet Nebulos. Though the Autobots attempted to make peace with the Nebulans, misunderstandings and deception from Councilman Zarak led to near war between the two races.

In a gesture of peace, Fortress Maximus, Pointblank, and nine other Autobots turned their weapons over to the Nebulans. When that failed to convince them, Fortress Maximus and four of his top warriors removed their heads, and left their bodies and heads in the care of the Nebulans as an act of peace.

After Zarak brought the Decepticons to Nebulos, the Autobots main supporter, Galen, and his allies binary-bonded with Fortress Maximus and his crew to form the Headmasters. However, Zarak would later binary-bond with Scorponok, leader of the Decepticons and had his minions do the same. Using Scorponok's strength and his own political skills, Zarak was able to defeat Galen's Headmasters and convince the general population of Nebulos that the Autobots were evil.

With Fortress Maximus being held by the Nebulans, Pointblank was made unofficial leader of the Autobots. He was approached by six Nebulans who were branded outlaws because they still believed in Galen, and wished to help the Autobots. Pointblank and Kup then designed the Targetmaster Process, using the Nebulans to supplement their lost weaponry. Pointblank was binary-bonded with Peacemaker, leader of the outlaws. The Targetmasters stalemated a battle with Scorponok and the Terrorcons at the Nursery, and only fled after they realized the Nursery was being destroyed.

When Fortress Maximus and the others were freed, the Autobots decided to leave Nebulos and went to Earth. The entire Headmaster/Targetmaster army was absorbed into the Earthen Autobots, under the leadership of Optimus Prime. Pointblank remained leader of the Targetmasters and served in many battles against the Decepticons.

Pointblank, Crosshairs and Sureshot were taken prisoner by the Decepticons under Scorponok as bait set for the Autobot Headmasters, who eventually managed to free them.
