Lyrics
Life, Is bigger
|
Interpretation
First of all, I'd like to say this is the best love song ever, at least, as far as I have experienced love (but thats another story). Also note, as with all my interpretations they have alot to do with my point of view, so...better stop before I say too much... The song starts off in the middle of a thought, where the singer (Stripe) is telling himself there is more to life than his love interst. "The lengths that I will go to", this has alot of meanings... the lengths that stripe will go to get the girl interested in him, to get to know more about her, to progress this fantasy he has, to make it real. "The distance in your eyes", well i guess she isnt paying much attention to me. "O no I'v said too much, I set it up": Stripe is talking to the girl, but he might have given away too much personal information, scared her away...but on the other hand, he set up the conversation to drop a hint type of thing, set up a "random" time seeing her (not stalking!). "Thats me in the corner"-feeling like hes the only one to experince this, feeling alone. "Thats me in the spotlight"- Feeling like everyone is looking at him, feeling nervous in general. "Losing My religion"-My fav line!.. To Stripe, she is god, the one to warship too, but through this, the fantasy is falling apart, and hes loosing his faith in her, losing his religion! "Trying to keep, up, with you, and I dont know if I can do it". Again, trying to keep an eye on the girl, make sure she is "ok", weird, but true (i think). Either protecting her, or finding more about her (and as information appears, the fantasy is lost and he loses his religion"). "O no, Iv said too much, I havnt said enough" Mabey i should have said this, or this when i talked too her.. regret. "I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw, you try." Thinking, rationalizing, imagining the girl is intersted, yet your really not sure. Mabey it was fantasy, mabey it was real.. too scared to find out the truth, got to keep fantasy alive. "Every wisper, every waking hour, I'm, choicing my confessions" Deciding what to tell her next, what to tell her that might get her intersted in you, but not say that you are intersted in her (well, at least not directly). "Trying to keep an eye on you, like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool" I think this was covered already. "Consider this, Consider this, hint of the century consider this, the slip, that brought me to my knees" "what if all these fantisy's come, flailing around?" Here stripe has told her what he feels, brining him to his knees, vunerable. HE is thinking "what if she says yes, then my fantisy's might come true.." "But that was just a dream, that was just a dream"-oops, he never asked her, he was just fantising again. |
