Goodsoil T-Shirt Design Contest - Anyone may design a shirt and submit it to Michael by the end of Fall quarter. CCC's verse is Matthew 13:8. You may pick one color for the shirt and one color for the text/graphics. Designs may be front and back. Winner will receive a free shirt (Winter quarter when we have them made), $30 cash, and a gift certificate to Buffalo Wild Wings. Be creative! As of right now we have only had 4 entries. If you have an idea, please bring it to a CCC meeting! (If you turn in a design, please put your name and contact info on the back or attach a sticky note or something. Someone turned in a design at the last meeting and we don't know who it was! See Michael if you know who it was.)
Join us in raising money for victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita at SSU's Disaster Blaster, Wednesday, October 5. SSU's clubs and organizations are working together to create a day of events to get YOU to help some people in need. CCC will be selling paper cutouts in the lobby of the UC. When you "purchase" one, you write your name on it and hang it in the UC windows. Every donation receives a free homemade cookie as well.

Over this summer, CCC is having a weekly Bible study at the Crusade house (on 3rd and Union streets). You are welcome to stop by Tuesday nights at 7pm! The study is led by Michael Hamer, our president!
Freshmen Orientations have begun, and a few volunteers have signed up to represent CCC to the new students. If this is something you'd like to do (pass out flyers, collect contact info, and tell people about CCC), then please see Allie or Christy. Or sign up through the yahoo group. Last year we had collected 72 names of interested freshmen! Status this year: 6 names, 2 orientations down, 6 orientations to go. Pray for the incoming students!
If you are not doing anything this Summer, you should consider going on a Summer Project with Campus Crusade for Christ. See Shawn or Dustin. We are looking for someone familiar with website design and/or HTML to help out with the website. See Cory Sykes. Finally we would like to let everyone know The Blue House is for sale now. Please contact Christy at 353-5238 if interested.
Our weekly meetings and events are over for this year. Thanks everyone who made this year possible! We had record attendances of our weekly meetings (56), Bible Studies (12 at GBS), and Monday Morning Prayer (10). Remember what's important this summer. Continue using the daily quiet time diaries. Keep in touch with each other through the yahoo group, etc.
We are very excited about Pastor Phil Manson from Pickerington Church of the Nazarene and Pastor John Gowdy from Temple Baptist Church in Portsmouth coming to speak at our meetings this quarter. Please make note of the dates below.
Come to the 30 Hour Famine. There are many way you can be involved. Directions are now available on Christy's website.
Everyone should bring their favorite Bible verses to next week's meeting, March 1. Wow. It's going to be March soon!!!
A new year, a new quarter. We are starting winter quarter of 2005. I've talked to several people who think this one is going to be difficult. Many people are taking more hours than last quarter. Seniors are trying to complete all the requirements to graduate in the spring. And the weather this time of year seems to slow everyone down. Campus Crusade for Christ is off to a good start though. I think students realize they need Christ guidance and the support of fellow Christians to make it though trying times like winter quarter.
Woo hoo! Did everyone enjoy Ignite the Light? Campus Crusade for Christ's fall concert was a great success! For those of you who didn't make it, we had 13 awesome bands in Shawnee State's gym that weekend. We want to thank all the bands for making it to our concert and doing a great job! The artists included Matt Leatherwood, Bottle Rocket, Under the Son, Overglow, Jamey Gorman, Noetic, Aramaic, the Blood Violets, Bigtone, and Riley Armstrong! We were sad to hear Michelle Kelly (of 3PO) was in the hospital and could not make it; but we are glad that Allen Lewis was able to fill in on short notice. Fall quarter certainly started off on a powerful note! Be sure to join us in our new location, VRCFA 319, upstairs in the arts center.
You can now reach this website by going to www.goodsoil.us. We also have the yahoo group up and running. Check it out: groups.yahoo.com/group/cccssu. Our weekly meetings Spring quarter went extremely well. CCC would like to thank Andy, Christy, Dustin, Garrett, Jenny, and Michael for helping with the praise band. Emily and Joel have also led the ocassional song. We had special musical guest Kim Hager/Deep Infusion and Michael Black. Thanks to Shawn Tyree, Doug Shugert, Mike Slagle, Tony Hempill, Jim McCullough, Shane Bowling, Gabriel Hinnerman, and Brian Hayton for being our guest speakers during Spring quarter. Most of all, we would like to thank God because without him none of this would be possible.
Thanks to everyone who helped fix up our new CCC house the last few weeks. We had painters, and sanders and guys that can lift heavy stuff like furniture. Help make this our own home! We also need a cool name for our house. Please stop by some time and check it out.
