Christmas makes me think of many things.
And as I got older with children of my own...
Making a countdown chain till Christmas on Thanksgiving Day.
Making Christmas chains for the tree from colored paper.
Baking cookies.
Stringing popcorn and cranberries.
Hiding unwrapped presents and
trying to find the time to wrap them.
Putting toys together EARLY Christmas morning.
Planning the Holiday activities around the families.
Christmas programs at
church
and at school.
Watching "Miracle on 34th Street" each year and crying in the same sad spots.
And now,
with children grown I still look forward to ...
All the things above, but also...
The Angel Tree, donating to food banks, coat drives, and toy donations.
"The Santa Clause" movie.
Poinsettias.
Christmas cards (more than I ever did in the past).
and especially
Friendships!!!
