THE SHETLAND SHEEPDOG

Like his name implies, the shetland sheepdog was bred as a herding dog, looking like a miniature version of the rough collie. Also originating in Scotland, this dog is as much at home with an elderly person as with a training athlete, and will accept as much or as little exercise as is offered. Not usually much more than 37 cm (141/2 in.), this little dog's coat needs quite a bit of attention, but he is not hard to feed or exercise. He is a great little dog that is trustworthy around little children and will require lots and lots of affection!
