  TRANSPORT

  By air

  International Rhodes Airport(16 Km from the city) is linked to the main Western European cities.
Olympic Airways link Rhodes to:
Athens, Kastellorizo, Paros, Kassos, Kos, Mykonos, Mytilene, Sitia, Iraklion.

  By sea

  Ferry-boat:Regular service to/from Piraeus stopping at:
Kos, Patmos, Leros, Kalymnos, Paros, Amorgos, Astypalaia, Nisyros, Tilos, Symi, Kastellorizo, Chalki, Kassos, Karpathos, Sia, Agios Nikolaos, Ikaria, Samos, Chios, Lesbos, Limnos, Kavala.
An internal Dodecanese service links Rhodes to:
Symi, Tilos, Nisyros, Kos, Kastellorizo, Leros, Leipsoi, Patmos, Arkoi, Agathonisi, Pythagoreio, Samos, Chalki, Diaphani, (Karpathos), Karpathos.

  (Flying Dolphins):
In the summer they link Rhodes to Kos, Leros, Symi and Patmos.

  (Travelling Inland):
There is a good road network with frequent bus service and lots of taxis to help you travel around the city and island of Rhodes.

  RENT A CAR

  Cars, motorbikes and bicycles are available everywhere for rent in the island of Rhodes.

  ORGANISED EXCURSIONS

  Most tourist agencies and tour operators offer full programms enabling you to tour Rhodes, other islands or parts of mainland Greece.

  FOOD/ENTERTAINMENT

  Many restaurants, ranging from the luxury class to simple tavernas and grills, cater for all your tastes from traditional Rhodian specialities to European, Ethnic, Greek and Cypriot menus.

  FISHING

  Best places for fishing are considered the shores of Kalithea, Lindos, Gennadi and Kamiro. In the market place there are many shops selling everything an angler may need.

  SMALL GAME HUNTING

  One needs a special permit, and hunting is allowed only on limited periods of the year. (Wild ducks, hares, partridges etc.) Information: Hunting Club of Rhodes, Municipal Marketplace, 1st storey, No 7, tel.21841.

  SPORTS

  Swimming

  Rhodes is famous for its beaches-pebbled or sandy, populous or deserted. There are also numerous organised swimming beaches equipped with all modern facilities.

  Sea-skiing

  In most organised beaches and major hotels all over the island.

  Tennis

  Tennis courts are available in many hotels all over the island. The tennis club of Rhodes, has two courts in the town near the hotel "Des Roses" and another four located 2 km from town on the way to Kalithea.

  Golf

  18-hole championship course at Afandou.

  Windsurfing

  Most major hotels and beaches on the coast have windsurfing facilities for rent. Organised beaches have also for rent sea-bicycles, parachutes, and jet skiing equipment.

  Horse Riding

  Horse riding facilities are available by the Western horse stables, situated near the village of Ialyssos, 7 km from the center of town.

  CASINO

  Roulettes, black jack, slot machines, all gathered in a cosmopolitan atmosphere in the International Casino of Rhodes. A must for gamblers, a thrilling spectacle for others.     

  YACHT FACILITIES

  Rhodes is a port to entry and exit and has port custom and sanitary authorities,as well as foreign exchange and passport control. Water and fuel are available in Lindos and Rhodes, Akantia (port of Rhodes) has a yacht service center.

  Yacthing

  Almost every type of sail or powered boat can be rented (crewed or bareboat).

  Marina
