ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

In a unique way and without necessarily being a student, you can contribute to help others in the pursuit of their goals at St. Elias School of Orthodox Theology. With your help, we can set aside funds for scholarships of less privileged potential students (who otherwise cannot afford tuition). While our very low tuition rates are easily affordable to Americans, foreign students or shut-ins are in a different situation. For instance, over the past years we were unable to admit candidates from penal institutions because they could not afford the tuition; yet, studies in Theology at St. Elias would have greatly benefited them in their rehabilitation process. Or, some foreign students from third world countries were unable to enroll at our school because of lack of funds; yet their studies in theology would have had a great impact on the success of their ministries.

According to Article 10 of St. Elias General Regulations, students and alumni who are in good standing are eligible for appointment to certain offices within the School. For instance, Article 7 states that the grade of Fellow may be conferred by the School upon those who have made a "distinguished contribution to the advancement of St. Elias School of Orthodox Theology".

Additionally, The School may make a limited number of appointments to non-students in the following categories:

The School, upon receipt of acceptable testimonials from persons of good standing, may confer such affiliate membership. Associate membership, carrying a postnomial of "Assoc. Theol.", may be conferred by the School upon those who have made a notable contribution to the advancement of the Orthodox Faith. (Articles 2 - 5)

Since St. Elias School is solely funded by tuition and occasional donations from generous supporters, it has been assessed that a notable monetary contribution to the school may consist of a minimum of $500. For more details about associate membership, please write to the school.
