Survey 2001 RESULTS

A written survey among St. Elias Alumni from 1992 to 2001 was conducted in fall of 2001. The Graduates received a survey sheet with two (2) to seven (7) questions each in ten (10) sections. Multiple choice was allowed in all sections. This survey was entirely voluntary and under the condition of anonymity for each participant.

Overall Results: 47.3 % participation in survey of counted survey sheets
The Survey ended on November 15 and was closed on November 20, 2001. Survey sheets received after the November 15 date therefore could not be counted.

10 % completed either Program A or B
20 % graduated with a Dipl. Theol.
10 % graduated with a Lic. Theol.
40 % graduated with a D.D.
22 % graduated with a S.T.D.

20 % always use their Postnomial.
10 % often use their Postnomial.
22 % sometimes use their Postnomial.

For 40 % the degree or certificate earned at St. Elias did help professionally.
For 40 % the degree or certificate earned at St. Elias did help in their career.
For 10 % the degree or certificate earned at St. Elias made no difference professionally.
For 30 % the degree or certificate earned at St. Elias helped only personally.

20 % after graduation from St. Elias continued studies at another institute.
70 % after graduation from St. Elias did not continue studies at another institute.

70 % enjoyed their studies at St. Elias and greatly benefited spiritually.
20 % somewhat enjoyed their studies at St. Elias and benefited spiritually to a certain extent.

60 % would recommend St. Elias School of Orthodox Theology to others.
40 % had recommend St. Elias School of Orthodox Theology to others already.
10 % would like to support St. Elias School of Orthodox Theology monetarily.

80 % feel the tuition for their program was fair and adequate.
20 % feel the tuition for their program was very inexpensive compared to other, similar schools.
40 % liked the payment plan option.
10 % didn't care about payment plans.

60 % would join an Alumni association, once available.

10 % are interested in serving on the St. Elias School Board for at least one term.
30 % are interested in becoming a tutor.
10 % would be interested in becoming a staff or faculty member, if qualified.

20 % think St. Elias should have a scholarship fund in a separate account monitored by the School Board.
40 % think scholarships should be given to needy students or the incarcerated who currently cannot study at St. Elias.
20 % think everyone should be eligible for scholarships once low-income criteria have been met.
10 % would be willing to contribute to a scholarship fund once opened.
