This poem needs a little explanation. As so often happens to me, the first four lines were running rampant in my mind, but I had no idea of how to continue with this poem. I tossed the idea out to my friend Chris, and he got back to me with the next eight lines. We batted it back and forth until we were satisfied with it. Alisa helped me when I was stuck on a couple of the last few lines. It was my first collaborative effort, and I hope I can help produce another one some day that I can be as proud of.
One last kiss;
One last goodbye.
One last time
Before I die.
If I die
Before I wake,
Take me in your arms,
In your sweet embrace.
I want to die
With thoughts of you.
I wish to expire
With love so true.
A love so true
As only ou can give
One that I've never regretted
For as long as I've lived.
Every night,
Every day,
You've been the best
In every way.
When I'm gone,
Please don't cry.
I'll wait for you
Up in the sky.
My love for you will never end.
It will always be true.
I'll always save
My love for you.
