You can make your altar out of anything you want. I use an old book shelf and it suits me just fine. You can use an old book shelf an end table, a table, anything you want. Your altar can be anywhere you want it to be. Outside, inside, in your room (that's where I have mine) in a spare room...just about anywhere. The things that you would put on an altar would be candles, a pentacle, incense burner, wand, dagger, chalice etc...You should also put things that have sentimental value to you for example I have little glass unicorns that my mother bought for me when I was 1 year old and I have things on there that my best friends have given to me. You can put anything you want on your altar. The altar is where you will be performing most of you spells. My altar is very sacred to me and if anything were to happen to it I don't know what I would do with myself. Your altar does not have to be in one place..you can move it where ever and when ever you want it doesn't have to be in the same spot for as long as you live:) My altar is staying right where it is because it is too big to move around so when I go out side to do spells or rituals I make a little altar outside with only the stuff I need for that certain spell or ritual. When you do start to put your altar up try to face it to the North-the North is for new beginnings. When you set up your altar ask the God and Goddess for a blessing. |
