You must know the elements before you do any type of magick.
Water and Earth are both female energies. Fire and Air are both male energies.
In Wicca and cerimonial magick, each element is associated with a color
East-Blue
West-Yellow
North-Green
South-Red
Air governs the west side of the pentagram/circle, it's ruler is Paralda who oversees the sylphus, Zephyisln and the Naturepi sprii or in other words fairies. It's color is pure yellow; it is considered to be moist and warm. The positve sides of Air are: sunrise, spring, incense, spring, clouds, breath, breezes, intelectualism, mental quickness, and any kind of helpfull Air. The negitive sides of Air are: gossip, inattention, braging, forgetfulness, and Destructive air such as wind storms, etc...
The element Fire governs the southern part of the pentagram/circle. It's ruler is Djin (dee-yin) who looks after the salamanders, firedrakes, and the little ones of the sun beams. It's color is pure red; it is considered dry and warm. The positve asspects of Fire are: noon, summer, the sword and dagger, candles, sun , stars, the blood, courage, daring, willpower, leadership, and any kind of helpful Fire. Negitive asspects of Fire are: jelousy, hate, anger, fear, conflicts, ego, lightning, volcanoes, and any harmful Fire.
The element of Water governs the east side of the pentagram/circle. It's ruler is Niska who looks after the nymphs, undines, mer-people, and the little ones of the springs, lakes, ponds and rivers. It's color is pure blue; it is moist and cold. The positive asspects of Water are: fall, sunset, cauldron and chalice,and any kind of helpful Water, peacefulness, forgiveness, compassion, love, intuition, peacefulness. The negitive asspects of Water are: floods, rainstorms, whirlpools any negitive water, lazyness, lack of emotional control, instability, indifference, insecurity.
The element Earth governs the northern side of the pentagram/circle. It's ruler is Ghob, sometimes called Ghome, who looks after the gnombs, dwarfs, and the little ones of the moon beams. It's color is pure dark green; it is dry and cold. The positive asspects of Earth are: winter, midnight, the pentacle, ritual salt, mountains, soils, gemstones, caves, endurence, respect, throughness, responsibility, stability. the negitive sides of Water are: unwillingness, stubornness, earthquakes, slides.
The fifth element Spirit dominates the top of the pentagram/circle. Spirit balances out all of the other elements.
Throught the invocation of Gods and Goddesses or Spirit, we are able to blend elements bringing forth the desired manisfestation.
gnombs-knowledge or the knowing ones
Undine-wave cratures, creatures of the waves
Silphe (sylph)-butterfly or ones with shinning wings
Salamander-a fireplace- the small being was more like a small dragon though.
