WITCHES HOLIDAYS |
There are eight holidays for a witch these holidays consist of: Yule- Dec 21st or 22nd Imbolgc- February 2nd Spring Equinox- March 21st or 22nd Beltane- May 1st Summer Solstice- June 22nd Lammas- August 21st Fall Equinox- September 21st Samhain- October 31st-November 11th |
Samhain -(pronounced Sow-een, Sow-in, or Sav-ain) -October 31st through November 11th. This is the Witches "New Year" and the primary Sabbat from which all others flow. On this night the veils between the worlds are thinner then ever. |
Imbolgc -(pronounced em-bowl/g) Febuary 2nd (sometimes called Candlemas). In this cerimony we honor the Goddess and her recovery of giving birth to the God, and the advant of the birth and growth of the land. |
Beltane -(pronounced bell-teen or beel-tawn-uh)-April 30th or may 1st, falls opposite of Samhain. Witches consider this holy day the second greatest Sabbat of eight Wiccan ceremonies. Samhain encompasses the celebration of death, Beltaine is the festival of rebirth. |
Lammas -(pronounced Lam-mahs)August 1st. This Sabbat is to honor Lugh, the Celtic Sun God. This day is sometimes called the Wedding Feast or the First Feast. This holiday gives thaks to Spirit for the abundance of the Earth. |
Yule-December 21st or 22nd. This holiday celebrates the rebirth of the God as he returns to bring warmth and firtility to the hearts of everybody. |
Sring Equinox or Ostara-March 21st or 22nd (Ostara is prounced Oh-star-ah). This holiday represents the reture of firtility to the land. this holiday is also sometimes called "Lady Day". |
Summer Solstice -June 22nd. This holiday is to celebrate the srength of the God and all his passion and Glory. |
Fall Equinox-September 21st. This holiday celebrates the cutting things out of you life and also honoring the female dead of the family. |
