My Little Angel

    9 1/2 inches long
Hello. Thank you for visiting my web site. My name is Leslie Serina. I became an angel on November 20, 1996, which is also my Grandpa Garland's birthday. My mommies name is Stacey. She is doing this site as a memorial to me.
My mommy found out she was pregnant with me on July 28, 1996. She was so excited. What she didn't know was that I had a chromosome abnormality called Trisomy 9. It is a rare genetic disorder. In stead of having two of the ninth chromosome, I had three. To find out more about Trisomy please visit
www.trisomyonline.org.
On the day that I was born, my Grandpa Garland and Grandma Linda were there along with my Aunt Cheryl and mommies good friend Shelly. They came to welcome me to the world and say goodbye. It meant alot to my mommy to have all these people there to comfort her.
The doctors and nurses at University Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska were really wonderful and took really good care of mommy and me. They let me stay with mommy and she got to hold me and she even got to give me a sponge bath. A minister came in and I was baptized.
Now I am in Heaven playing with all my angel friends on the rainbow slide. I still let my mommy know that I am with her.
Thank you for visiting me. Don't forget to sign my guest book.
Come back real soon.
This poem was written for me by my Grandma Linda.

So small;
So frail;
So beautiful.
You are my first Grandchild.
My angel, I love you so.
Rest well in Gods arms,
As you are His angel now.

I love you!

                Little Angels
When God calls little children
to dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometimes question
the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with
the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world
seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling the
aged to His fold,
So He picks a rosebud
before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
and so He takes but few
To make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be "Goodbye".
So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children
Angels are hard to find.

Mommy and Me
Leslie Serina  November 20, 1996
An angel, in the book of life, wrote down this baby's birth, and whispered as she closed the book, "too beautiful for earth".
The music playing in the background is
"Nobody Knows" by Kevin Sharp from his "Measure of a Man" CD
This is Mommy's song to me. The following is Mommy's favorite part:

"Why didn't I say the things I needed to say, how could I let my angel get away, now my world is just a-tumblin' down,
I can say it so clearly, but you're nowhere around.
The nights are lonely, the days are so sad, and I just keep thinkin' about the love that we had, and I'm missing you, and nobody knows it but me."
