When I made up my mind to stitch the Castle, it was due partly to TexasBethM for her red color conversions. I saw how well this dragon adapted to the reds, and I began scouring the Teresa Wentzler Bulletin Board looking for Castles of other colors.
I found blue ones, red ones, purple ones, and of course the original green...but no white. I *love* the color white, so I began to fiddle with some ideas. I ran it by a few people in the Castle forum, and taking their fabric suggestions I chose to stitch this winter draggie on Color Blooms Dragon Myst; I had originally wanted black, but the common consensus was that it would be too stark.
It is interesting how he is developing. As I stitch him, he seems to be taking on an alien quality, and it has been noted on the Teresa Wentzler Bulletin Board that he there is something "android" about him.
I am stitching his desert counterpart Topaz, and I am amazed how the same pattern can not only look different when differing colors are applied, but it can evoke totally seperate sensations.
