MUSEUM EXPERIENCE

Pollok House, Pollok, Scotland. Design & Education assistant, Jan 2009-June 2009. Work placement in design. Researched and created new guide to the Silver Corridor according to National Trust for Scotland Brand Guidelines. Period costume interpretation and delivered lecture on silver corridor.

The McFaddin-Ward House, Beaumont, TX. Curator of Collections, Jan 2005-July 2008.
Supervised department of five and interns, maintained collections in archives, library & exhibition buildings including the 1906 Beaux-Arts Colonial 12,800 sq ft mansion & 1907-08 carriage house.

Major Accomplishments:
Author  - "The McFaddin-Ward House Collection of Robert Mitchell Furniture and their Catalog No. 75." Manuscript in editing phase as of June 2009.
Presenting Chair - Who Else Lived Here? Historic House Museum Conference, (p.5) 1-3 Nov 2007. Developed program and slate of speakers, including Keynote Jim Vaughan of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Survived Hurricane Rita - disaster preparation and recovery
Third Floor Restoration - Staff member in charge, created furnishing plan for halls, bathroom, two bedrooms and a billiard room, restored 1906 Brunswick, Balke and Collender "Newport" table with Joe Newell, furniture restoration and leather conservation of all pre 1925 furniture installed with volunteer assistance,previewed by the Texas Association of Museums & the Louisiana Association of Museums 5-4-2006. Grand Opening 4-5 Nov 2006.

Exhibits & Interpretation:
Guided interpretation and worked with Education to develop programs and docent training. Supervised other exhibits by interns and Collections Manager (not listed).

Dissertation: "The Wright Incorporation of Perth 1700-1840", a two-volume documentary thesis in Furniture History. The first volume analyzes the business practices of this trade incorporation, introduces eight key furniture makers as case studies and documents over 800 hitherto unknown furniture makers of this ancient capital in an illustrated biographical dictionary.The second volume is a transcription of the Wrights' Minute Books 1698-1840.

Teaching: Instructor First-Year Art History courses in British Art and Italian Renaissance Art, 1996-1997.
