Character - Prince Wendell
The character of Prince Wendell (from NBC's miniseries The Tenth Kingdom) is probably Daniel Lapaine's best-known role. An arrogant, petulant young man, Wendell makes a routine visit to the Snow White Memorial Prison where his evil stepmother is being held prisoner. He gets a little more than he bargained for when his stepmother (the 'evil queen', who has escaped with the aid of trolls) catches him and turns him into a dog.
Though the show focuses more on Virginia and her struggles, we see development on Wendell's part as well. Through all of his trials (from being turned into gold to being powerless in his own kingdom and having to rely on others), Wendell loses his apathy toward life and becomes a better person--and we hope, a better king.
Daniel also played the fake prince, the former dog who switched bodies with Prince Wendell. Not as much depth to this role, though he was very amusing to watch!
