HAVE YOU BEEN SAVED?

Stage Five

In order for us to be saved,we must be connected to the life of the resurrected Christ. This is made possible when Jesus sends forth his Holy Spirit from where he is enthroned at the right hand of the father. This is precisely what Jesus promised when, immediately before his ascension into heaven,He reminded the apostles of tremendous power that he would pour out upon them: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem,in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8 ).

This was accomplished in the Pentecost event: "And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like a rushof a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

Divided tongues,as of fire, appread among them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit"( Acts 2:2-4 ).This power of the Spirit is given to the church so that it may fulfill its mission to preach, teach, sanctify, and save.
