Holt's Famous Fairy Lights
The town centre
sprang into a show of festive colour at Wednesday's switch-on.
Radio Broadland's morning crew, Rob Chandler, Chrissie Jackson and Neil Oxbury,
did the honours, transforming the street into a sparkling spectacle.
Roads leading into the town centre were closed allowing hundreds of shoppers and
children to make the most of the event.
The Rector of Holt, Father Howard Stoker, introduced the festivities as a
tinsel-wrapped carriage brought characters from Norwich Theatre Royal's
pantomime through the onlookers towards a central stage.
Revellers were treated to seasonal music from the Gresham School choir and
Stalham Brass Band.
Terry Birkes, secretary of Holt Chamber of Trade, said the event continued to be
a special date in the town's calendar
