It certainly is proving to be an interesting race.  For most punters, discounting Newcastle, there is little to separate the 4 challengers. However, it is quite clear to me that Man United will romp it, and I will accept wagers from anyone on this subject. We’ve had our blip already and I think we are the only team capable of putting a run of a dozen games or so.

Liverpool have for some reason self-combusted, Arsenal are so inconsistent that they have even lost the faith of Alex, Leeds don’t lose many but they draw way too many!! Chelsea could yet be a surprise package, banging 3 against us, 4 against Liverpool, and 5 today. They can score at will, but can they overcome their inconsistencies. As for Newcastle, no strength in depth

Anyway, onto our game. Alex scraped through as weekly winner in round 16, more due to Chris’ inability to see a home victory for Spurs over Fulham (what were you thinking???) and my inability to grab all 15 (2 9’s and 4 8’s for heaven’s sake!!)

Our league is becoming less interesting. Alex keeps increasing his lead, steve keeps dropping and monkey keeps flattering to deceive.

I wonder if the extra 5 points will have an impact come May?

As for round 17, it seemed as if the race was on to see who would get the least points that week. I haven’t checked, but this must be the round with the lowest winning total. Jeff wins the week with just 3 correct results (and just one correct score)!!

See you all soon.
