Dory Funk Jr., brother of Terry Funk and a member
of the Funk family of wrestlers, is a true legend in the wrestling ring.
He had held titles in the United States and Japan and is a consistent draw
on both sides of the Pacific. The Funk stamina is strong in Dory, even
now he still wrestles and trains new wrestlers, despite being in his 60s.
Funk established himself as a star in the mid-60s,
teaming with brother Terry and father Dory Sr. Dory captured the NWA Title
in the late 60s and would go on to hold it for four years. Funk's reputation
in Japan is legendary, he is a household name there and has the privilege
of dressing with Japanese wrestlers, almost unheard of for Western grapplers.
The Funks are long-time friends of the Hart family
and have wrestled on and off for them since they stepped in the ring.
Funk currently lives in Florida where he teaches
Japanese and trains new wrestlers at the Funkin Dojo.
