STAMP-N-TELL GETTING TO KNOW YOU ***TERRI BRADBURY*** |
1. Tell us a little about yourself, your family, your job, your home, etc. I don't like talking about myself very much, but I sure do like to talk about my family, so I'll tell ya'll about them. I've been married to my hubby (Ken) and very best friend for 27 years next week. He is the Chief Plumbing Inspector for the City of St. Petersburg and also teaches plumbing 2 nights a week at our county technical school. He is such a sweetheart and one of the most compassionate, loving, patient people I have ever known. He has to be to put up with me. We have one beautiful daughter who is a manager at a local Office Depot. She'll be leaving there in July to become an office manager for an independent insurance agent. She's still working on her Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and hopefully will be in that field very soon. Barbara has recently found a love interest, Buddy, who we all just adore. He has become an integral part of our family and we couldn't be more pleased! She's also Mommy to our most precious Grandson, Tyler. The love of all our lives. Tyler turns 7 this month and is growing up way too fast for our taste. He brings so much joy, love, passion, humor and entertainment to our lives! Believe me, I could go on for days about him! Ken & I were so honored and proud in April by becoming the Godparents to the newest additions to our family, twin nephews, Ian & John. What fun we are having with these 2 precious boys! Aunt Terri gets lots of time with them and is loving every single second! Having come from a family of all girls and having a daughter, I now find myself surrounded by all these little boys (and a few big ones - LOL) and words cannot express how very blessed I feel and how much they all mean to me. And I haven't even touched on my parents, my sisters, my sisters and brothers-in-law, my other nieces & nephews, my aunts, uncles and cousins! My family - the greatest passion in life! 2. How did you first get involved in stamping? I got involved in stamping 5+ years ago when a very good friend sent me a hand stamped Christmas card that was nothing like I had ever seen before. When I found out she had created the card herself using rubber stamps - that was all it took! I was hooked and the addiction began. Now I don't know whether to thank her or slap her. Just kidding! ;-) 3. What is your favorite technique? To be honest, I haven't been stamping at all lately. A few weeks ago I had to go into Michael's to pick up a couple of things needed for projects I was working on for Tyler to give his Mommy and the twins to give their Mommy for Mother's day. I saw the latest Rubber Stamper and decided to get it, hoping for some much needed inspiration. When I saw the watercolor wash cards on page 33, I was inspired! I tried to find the Watercolor Square Stamp from Raindrops on Roses, but didn't have any luck. Then I remembered this Rollagragh wheel I had that kind of resembled this effect. Since I rarely used this wheel, I peeled the rubber off, cut it in half lengthwise and put the two pieces side-by side on an acrylic block. When I tried the technique using it, I was very pleasantly surprised to see it looked very, very close to the magazine examples! So, now when I have a few extra minutes, I find myself making watercolor backgrounds! It's a start to get back into stamping. Maybe I'll actually use them and get back into the groove. Hopefully. I miss it. 4. What is your favorite card you have ever made: one you are the proudest of? I don't really have anything I've created that I'm proud of. I know I'm my own worst critic and it is something I'm working on. Well, trying to work on. 5. What are your favorite stamp companies and why? I love the new Hero Arts line, Stamper's Anonymous, Impression Obsession & Serendipity Stamps because they are just images I like. It's hard to explain why I like them, I just do. 6. What are your favorite type images you use in stamping? Dragonflies and butterflies. Big surprise, huh? LOL! 7. What are your favorite colors? Purple and Teal. 8. What is one dream you have that you wish could come true? That I will still be alive to at least see my Grandson and Godson's children. I don't want to miss one-second of these boys' lives. 9. What is your biggest pet peeve? People who are cruel and/or abusive to children. 10. Anything else you would like to share? Like things you collect, things that make you happy, and so on? When I started this list way back when, my hopes were for a place that friends and would be friends would feel safe, secure and loved. Free of all the nastiness, ugliness and negativity so prevalent on many of the lists out there. With the generous, loving help from some of the bestest friends I have ever been blessed with, my hope became a reality. A loving family atmosphere was born. To say I am pleased this atmosphere has prevailed for almost 2 years is an understatement. It is because of you,all the members, that this list remains what it started out as. My deepest and sincerest gratitude goes out to each member for what you bring, share, inspire others to try and the love you show to each other. Even though this isn't my list anymore and I'm not active right now, doesn't mean that I don't care about what happens here or each member. That couldn't be further from the truth. Stamp-n-Tell is like my baby and I thank each one of you for keeping 'my baby' alive and well. God bless you all. |
