O, most gracious Heavenly Father, as I come before You, I praise You for Your graciousness. I praise You for Your ability to look beyond my faults and see that there is something in me that is worthy of Your love and grace.
Teach me, Father, to follow the example given to us through the life of Jesus Christ. Open my spiritual eyes to be able to see beyond the ugly that is on the surface of those around me. Help me to look deep into their aching souls and have compassion instead of judgement.
Lord, as they are crying out in the fear and rage, show me the good that lies deep inside their souls. Give me the desire and strength to give of myself, the goodness that You have placed in me, so that those who are hurting will be able to not only trust You, but be able to trust me to trust You on their behalf.
Lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name's sake and let me be a light to those who cry in the darkness. I love You, Father. I want others to know Your love and peace. Use me, O Lord to let Your light shine out. Make me a city on a hilltop, a beacon of love, so that the scared and lonely will be able to find You. Search my heart, know me, make me holy as You are holy. Put me in the gap for the lost, guide me, as I learn not to be hasty in criticizing another's weaknesses, but to love them the way that You have loved them and sent Your Son to die for them.
Let blessing and honor and power and glory be unto the King of kings and the Lord of lords forever and ever. Amen
Your humble servant and grateful child,
**your name**
