Driving Directions to the "Tree House"

This site is intended to give a more accurate description of driving directions to the "Tree House" at 459 Lagunita Drive, Stanford, CA 94305. As usual you can get directions and maps from well known sources like mapquest.com or maps.yahoo.com if you put in the above address. However for different reasons this seems not to work out very well for everybody. Hopefully this page can give you a better picture of the driving directions. To keep it simple I will describe only one major access to the Campus, which is the shortest if you are coming from Hwy. 101 South. If you are coming from the North or Hwy. 280 South you can still use this access, it's just a little bit longer to drive.

From Hwy. 101 take Exit Oregon Expressway towards Palo Alto and follow Oregon Expressway for about 1.5 miles to El Camino Real and turn right onto El Camino Real.

From Hwy. 280 take Exit Page Mill Road towards Palo Alto and follow Page Mill Road for about 2 miles to El Camino Real and turn left onto El Camino Real.

Now we are on the same interchange El Camino Real with Oregon Expressway / Page Mill Road. Follow El Camino Real in the indicated direction above, which is North-West towards Downtown Palo Alto.

After 3/4 miles you pass Stanford Avenue and on the next traffic light turn left into Serra Street. After 1/2 mile you will see a Fire Station on the right hand side and a Texaco Gas Station on the corner with Campus Drive East. On the Gas Station turn left into Campus Drive East and go straight for about 3/4 mile passing 4 streets with Stop signs. On the Stop sign number 5 turn right from Campus Drive East into Mayfield Avenue. After 200 Meter there is the next Stop sign, where the only way is turning left, still on Mayfield Avenue. After 100 Meter there is another Stop sign. Turn right into Lagunita Drive. Now you are on a large parking lot. Park your car there and walk North towards the Main Campus.

On the North East corner of the parking lot is Tresidder Union Square and the "Tree House" is about 100 Meter away from the edge of the parking lot. The entrance to the "Tree House" is NOT visible from the street, so actually you have to park your car and walk around to find the entrance :-) & once you made it to the parking lot there is also always the possibility to ask somebody for directions...
