Notes: Originally I wanted to use the title "Tokyo Time," but it didn't really capture the right feeling. "English in Action" sounded more interesting, more unusual, and more ... well ... active.

For at least the test strips I decided to stick with the semi autobiographical character from "Making the Grades." I'm not sure in retrospect that this was the best decision. I have a lot of history and emotional baggage tied up in this image, and it might have been one of the things that kept me from being able to craft the strip into what I wanted it to be. If I had it to do over again I'd probably invent a completely new character.
