Notes: This strip had its origin in an assignment I'd gotten while taking classes at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. The assignment had been to do a comic that was completely in the dark and used ONLY the word balloons and sound effects to tell a story until the final panel (which was supposed to be some sort of punchline ... this was a course on "humorous illustration"). I'm not sure this comic would have met the instructor's strict criteria since there are drawings in the final TWO panels. Still, I encourage all cartoonists out there to TRY this exercise ... it's harder than you think.
