Dixie is our gorgeous two year old AKC registered black & white parti color Cocker. We got Dixie in Colorado
from Pamela K. Hanson of Hanson Kennels, a wonderful breeder who has been breeding and showing dogs for over 20
years.
We had Dixie checked for hereditary eye diseases and her C.E.R.F results were clear. I have not had her O.F.A’s yet because she is pregnant. I will have the test done when she is 8-10 weeks post-partum. Although I do not show her, Dixie has many champion AKC Cockers in her pedigree.
My daughter chose Dixie for her gorgeous freckles and Dixie was her birthday present that year. Dixie is very
attached to everyone in our family and "squeaks" to greet us every morning when we wake up. She
has missed us when she was asleep! She has a good temperament and is friendly and happy.
Dixie is a bird dog and loves to chase birds. I'm sure she would be a great hunting dog had we trained her
early. Dixie also loves the water. She goes swimming in our pool in summer. Sometimes when
she is hot, she will even go in alone! She loves to play ball and will go off the diving board to retrieve it. During
the day, her favorite spot is underneath me on the computer or anywhere she can keep me in her sights.
On April 23rd, 2002, Dixie turned two years old! Stephanie made a cake, and we had a big celebration. A good time was had by all!
