Episode 6 - Judgement:
Synopsis:
David is offered a promotion - but only if he is willing to
let his branch be downsized. Naturally, David accepts. 
He breaks the news to his staff and
they understandably upset, most of all Gareth, who will no longer be assistant to
the regional manager. David gives him a hole punch to make him feel better. Later
at Chasers, however, David announces that he is keeping his old job to preserve
the Slough branch. He has actually failed a medical test. Meanwhile, Tim is
staying at Wernham Hogg for an extra £500 a year and, much to Dawn's distress,
has started talking like David Brent.

Jennifer: I don’t have time for the pie thing David.
David: Yeah. Oh, well I’ll take the job please.
Dawn: And all that talk about moving up in the world?
Tim: No, I said moving up, yeah, moving up. Moving up can mean within an
internal ladder framework, or sideways to external, then up. You know, you
gotta look at the whole pie, vis-à-vis my current life situation.

Philosophy
You’ve seen how I react to people, make them feel good, make them think that
anything’s possible. If I make them laugh along the way, sue me. And I don’t
do it so they turn round and go ‘Thankyou David for the opportunity, thankyou
for the wisdom, thankyou for the laughs.’ I do it so, one day, someone will go
‘There goes David Brent. I must remember to thank him.'
Most embarrassing moment
David tells the office that they will all either lose their jobs or have to
relocate to Swindon. He then says that the fact he is being promoted is a silver lining.
